Brooklyn synthpop maestros Small Black have had an interesting couple of years as a band. A hyped-up debut EP, a split remix 7" with Washed Out, and then a proper full length LP that got a resounding "meh" from anyone who bothered to listen. I was ready to never hear from them again. But now, they're going the mixtape route, releasing "Moon Killer" for free, available
here. And they are reinvigorated. Some uncleared samples, a Das Racist appearance, and a new sense of creative purpose put these boys back on track. And it's damn good. Listen below.
