Daily Jam - Holocaust
Big Star are one of those bands that influenced pretty much everybody, but for whatever reason were kind of ignored during their own time. I dig them a lot, particularly their third album, when they started to get weird. Listen to the quietly devastating "Holocaust" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Solaris 2014
When Failure came roaring back to life in 2014, they re-recorded a track from their 1996 masterpiece "Fantastic Planet," a slowed down, extended version of "Solaris." The new version sounds like being lost in space. Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Mammatus
You gotta love when an album cover gives you pretty much all the information you need on what the music therein sounds like. And so we have "Expanding Majesty," the latest release from Mammatus. Trippy, heady, proggy, stoned, psychedelic rock prevails. Check out the title track below and download the album here from Silver Current Records (the vinyl is sadly already sold out).

Sprain
LA band Sprain have a new record coming our way in September, and our first taste, "Man Proposes, God Disposes," is a cool mix of post-punk and post-hardcore noise. The track is all over the place, spoken lyrics and shouting, shredding guitars, and feels like it might unravel at any second, but somehow manages to keep it all together for its 7-minute runtime. Check it out below and pre-order the upcoming "The Lamb as Effigy" LP here from The Flenser.
Daily Jam - Untrust Us
Fifteen years on, this song's still a banger. Listen to Crystal Castles' "Untrust Us" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Your God Is Dead
There are far, far too many fascists and Nazis out there. We used to understand that. The excellently named English industrial band Mussolini Headkick sure understood it. Sigur Rós
Sigur Rós are surprise releasing new album "ÁTTA" tomorrow, and the first single is the kind of beautiful, minimalist neo-classical, and post rock sound we've come to expect from the band, even if it's been a few years since we last heard from them. Check out "Blóðberg" below and watch the glaciers move. Look for the album digitally tomorrow from BMG and pre-order the vinyl, due in September, here.
Daily Jam - Group Four
I wonder how much money Massive Attack made when "Teardrop" was used as the theme song to the TV show "House?" I would guess a pretty penny. Anyway, here's another song from the "Mezzanine" album. Listen to "Group Four" below, our Daily Jam.

KENMORE Classic
There is something so otherworldly yet simultaneously familiar about the sounds of vaporwave. It's an odd little genre that pulls half remembered memories of Muzak in public spaces from the ether and mixes it into a lo-fi stew with bits and pieces of synth, reverb, and more. It's like being in an alien mall, and it's oh so weirdly soothing. Montreal artist KENMORE Classic just released new album "Woolcowave" which throws in some exotica and library music into the mix as well. Grab the cassette here from Austin label Mall Talk Collective and listen to "The North Hall" below.
Daily Jam - Drum Gets a Glimpse
I a sucker for genuinely weird albums, and in 2006, i don't know if there was anything released into the wild weirder than Liars' third album "Drum's Not Dead." It was a difficult album for some people, but i found that multiple listens opened it up and revealed some beautiful layers interwoven into its sonic tapestry. Check out the tranquil "Drum Gets a Glimpse" below, our Daily Jam.
