In case you were not aware of it, LA band Sprain released a contender for album of the year a couple weeks ago with the epic, noisy, and sprawling "The Lamb as Effigy." It's a massive album, but one i have not been able to get my mind off of since its release on the first. At its core, it's a post punk record, but sounds kind of like if Liars, IDLES, Xiu Xiu, Swans, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor all got together to make record.
