The other day i got a familiar piano and strings instrumental in my head and just could not place what it was. I knew it was a soundtrack tune of some sort and then realized it was from daytime TV. A quick search online and i came to realize the song was the them to the soap opera "The Young and The Restless," and then i went down the "Nadia's Theme" rabbit hole. The track, originally penned by Barry DeVorzon and Perry Botkin Jr. (Barry and Perry, lol), was first called "Cotton's Dream" and appeared on the soundtrack to the 1971 film "Bless the Beasts and Children." Eventually it ended up being renamed "Nadia's Theme" after it became associated with gymnast Nadia Comăneci during the 1976 Olympics, and then ended up on "The Young and The Restless."
