White Ring
Witch house was a very niche genre of electronic music about 16-17 years ago. It's not as prevalent as it used to be, as far as it ever was, but it also never really went away. Hell, there's always a big internet to-do anytime Salem releases something. Anyhoo, noted Florida witch house band White Ring have a new album heading our way next month. Pre-order the forthcoming "FATE" LP here from the duo, check the ghostly image of the twin towers on the album cover art above, and listen to "Eyes 4 U" below.
Daily Jam - Fire
Work is still a bear for me right now, and while my travel is wrapped up, i've got a veritable mountain of data entry and accounting research in front of me. Best to listen to new age relaxation music while i dive into it. Listen to "Fire" below, from Christopher Pidgeon's 1981 album "Life Forces" below, our Daily Jam.

Why Bother?
Iowa band Why Bother? have a very cool synth/psych/garage rock/post-punk fusion thing going on for them, and i am here for it. New album "Beyond Step One" dropped earlier this month, and it's a total banger with weird, surreal, spoken word pieces strewn throughout. I don't think anything else sounds quite like it. Grab it here from Feel It Records and listen to "Come Undone" below.

Daily Jam - Ta Det Lugnt
I remember how blown away i was the first time i heard Swedish psych rock band Dungen over 20 years ago. Truth be told, listening to 2004's "Ta Det Lugnt," i'm still blown away. Just an amazing piece of work. Listen along with me, will you? Here's the title track, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Train of Consequences
I used to get the opening riff to Megadeth's "Train of Consequences" stuck in my head all the time. And in my best Ralph Wiggum voice: "i like how it sounds like a train." Anyhoo, check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Kraus
Not to be confused with the Dallas based alt-rock band of the same name, New Zealand artist Kraus makes experimental, psych-tinged electronica. New album "Water Music" feels tailor made for some kind of educational film. Check out "Princess from the Moon" below and pre-order the cassette here.
buttechno & Triš
I wasn't expecting to writing about an artist called buttechno today, but here we are. The German electronic artist and producer makes a very chill mix of trip-hop, ethereal electronica, and dub that feels like the whole world is just fading away. New album "The Spirit" is a collaboration with Ukrainian artist Triš, and plays like some surreal dream. Listen to "20 Flutes" below and get the album here.

Feeling Small
I caught Austin indie artist Feeling Small a couple years ago at a small SXSW show, and he just dropped a melancholy new piano ballad for our listening pleasure. "Bruise" is a soft lament, the kind of introspective piece to listen to at sunset. Check it out below and download it here from the artist.

I feel like most Pixies fans tend to gravitate towards either "Surfer Rosa" or "Doolittle." And i get that. They're two excellent albums. But for me, it's all about "Bossanova," because it has songs like "All Over the World" on it. Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

The Bug + Friday Night Plans
Last month, UK electronic musician and producer The Bug started the "Ladybug" series via his PRESSURE record label, an ongoing string of collaborations with different artists. The second in the series features trippy beats and broken, dreamy grooves with Japanese artist Friday Night Plans. Check out "Miss U" below and download it, along with a number of different mixes, here.

For years LA based record label Not Not Fun has been the place to go for weird and warbled sounds, dubby, underwater psychedelia, new age, and pop for the masses. And they're still killing it. Here's a beautiful new ambient-inspired track from Denver based artist Allison Lorenzen. Honey Radar
We always have room for some new Honey Radar around these parts, and so we have "Let's Talk About Swimming," the band's new 10" EP. GBV vibes abound, which is always a good thing. Check out the short and sweet "Fencing" below and grab the record here from the band.
Marissa Nadler and Milky Burgess
Here's a new track from Marissa Nadler, a collaboration with Milky Burgess, of an old time pop song by The Little Dippers and Billy Walker, later popularized by Pete Drake. Listen to "Forever" below and download it here.
The Drin
The excellent Cincinnati band The Drin dropped a great new single back in May with the release of "The Pigs of Silver Linings," and they follow that up with the announcement of their upcoming and epic new album "I Lost My Way for Centuries." First taste "Haven't Live It Yet" takes the band's lo-fi post punk sound and infuses it with a kind of dubby and chugging, krautrock-tinged psychedelic flair. Really, really cool stuff. This one just jumped to the top of my anticipated fall releases. Dig on the track below and pre-order the LP here from Feel It Records.
Daily Jam - Darkness
I am having a much needed lazy weekend full of laying around, movies, and reading. And some jams from King Khan & The Shrines. Here they are with "Darkness," our Daily Jam.

Almost an Island
I've had a ridiculously long couple of weeks filled with 4am wakeup times and 13-hour work days. Needless to say, i'm pooped. So let's sit back and relax with some gentle, dreamy, ambient-tinged sounds from Almost an Island. Snag the "Few Words Are Enough" EP cassette here from Past Inside the Present and listen to the gorgeous and transcendent title track below.
Daily Jam - 君の愛に背を向けて
I have been exploring a ton of Japanese music over the last couple of months: film scores, jazz, psych, city pop, and on and on. And i've gotta say i'm loving it, kind of similar to when i discovered all those Italian film score composers and library session musicians a decade or so back. Anyhoo, here's a jazzy piece of music from composer Yuji Ohno taken from the film "Proof of the Wild," or "Never Give Up" as it's known in other regions. Listen to the smooth and sultry "君の愛に背を向けて," translated as "Turning My Back on Your Love," below, our Daily Jam.
