Daily Jam (October Edition) - Lipstick to Void
Here's an eerie, droning selection from Mica Levi's otherworldly score to Jonathan Glazer's 2013 film "Under the Skin." Seriously, this music can haunt your dreams. Check out "Lipstick to Void" below, our Daily Jam.

Dééfait
I was hopping around Bandcamp last night sampling things and came across the new self-titled album from French band Dééfait, a moody and swirling mix of post punk and noise rock. It's the kind of thing i could see myself becoming a complete and utter devotee of if i caught them at like SXSW or something. Very cool shit. Check out "Folâtre, Fissure, Crie!" below and get the LP here from lci d'ailleurs.

Liz Harris
Fresh off of the release of her fuzzy dreampop band Helen's new album, Liz Harris of Grouper fame just announced new album "Music for Two Films About Water." The aptly titled new record consists of two sprawling experimental tracks that served as soundtrack material for Tanja Englebert's "We Exhale" and Takashi Makino's "Constellation," each of which is a meditation on water. Listen to the sparse by gorgeous "Untitled (from Constellation)" below and pre-order the LP here from Kranky.

Damon Locks & D-Composed
Here's a very cool new collaboration between Chicago based visual and performance artist and musician Damon Locks and the black chamber music collective D-Composed. "Dawning" features the latter's unique string compositions paired with the former's beats and manipulated, improvisational spoken word pieces. It's kind of a trip. Check out "We Stay Beginning" below and pre-order the LP here from International Anthem.

Daily Jam (October Edition) - Heresy Part I
Experimental artist Lustmord brings on the dark ambient end times with his 1990 album "Heresy," a cold and ominous opus that sounds like the bowels of the earth opening and swallowing everything to hell. Perfect vibes for the season. Check out "Heresy Part I" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam (October Edition) - One Step Beyond
Is it really October without some music from the Fantomas album "The Director's Cut?" I think not. Here's their take on "One Step Beyond." Listen below, our Daily Jam.

The Olivia Tremor Control
It's going to be bittersweet for sure, with the passing of Bill Doss in 2012 and Will Cullen Hart in 2024, but The Olivia Tremor Control's final album, "The Same Place," is heading our way at month's end. The writing and recording began a long while back, and the remaining band members saw fit to complete the project. I love them. Anyway, listen to "Advice from the Oceans" below and pre-order the download here or the vinyl here from Elephant 6.

Thorn Wych
Here's some strange and haunting experimental folk from UK artist Thorn Wych. The music on "Aesthesis" sounds ancient, like the musical accompaniment to some exotic ritual, passed down through the ages, old myths and foreign customs. Check out the warped and yearning strings of "Longing Song" below and get the LP here from Tompkins Square.

Daily Jam - Marble House
Pretty crazy to think that The Knife's "Silent Shout" turned 20 years old earlier this year. Just another one of those things to make me feel ancient. Here's the Swedish electronic duo with "Marble House," our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - The Heavenly Music Corporation (excerpt)
Taking a little bit of a mental health day today. Also, Ash brought home some sort of middle school plague last week that's been working its way through the household. So, i'm going to try and get some writing done today, and some reading, and maybe watch a movie too. But first, here's an excerpt from Fripp & Eno's "The Heavenly Music Corporation." Check it out below, our Daily Jam.
