Mizmor & Hell

Fellow Oregon bands Mizmor and Hell have collaborated in the past, fusing the former's black metal drone and the latter's funereal doom metal into cacophonous bliss.  Over a decade later, and they're at it again with upcoming new album "Alluvion."  This one's going to be full of noise and gloom.  Check out "Pandemonium's Throat" below and pre-order the album by download here or on vinyl here from Gilead Media.

Mizmor & Thou

We've already heard Baton Rouge sludge band Thou and Portland metal band Mizmor cover Zola Jesus's "Night" with a little help from Emma Ruth Rundle for the upcoming 15th anniversary album for Sacred Bones.  It rules.  But i was unaware that the two behemoths also had a full-length collaborative record in store for us too.  It dropped to today digitally with the vinyl to follow this fall.  Check out "Drover of Man" below and pre-order "Myopia" here from Gilead Media.

Krallice - Crystalline Exhaustion

The boundary pushing, New York black metal band Krallice seem to love dropping albums on us at a moment's notice, so in true fashion they just announced a new release heading our way at the end of the month.  "Crystalline Exhaustion" is out digitally on 1/28 and will see a vinyl release (god willing) in March.  Check out the title track below, which moves from celestial synths to something proggier to atmospheric black metal and then back to those synths again, and keep an eye on P2 Records and Gilead Media for the release.

Thou

Thou hail from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The band creates often beautiful, often brutal dirges, a forward moving, progressive take on sludgy metal and ambient doom.  "Heathen" comes out next week via Gilead Media, and it's just a piece of work, an album meant to be consumed as a whole.  March back into the swamp and lose yourself in the muck and slime.  Nature is the devil's church.  Listen to "Free Will" below.
