Simon Rowe

UK artist Simon Rowe is best known for his work in the '90s as guitarist for shoegaze band Chapterhouse and shoegazey folk band Mojave 3.  In January, he graces us with his first solo effort, "Everybody's Thinking."  Listen to the late Britpop vibes of "Over & Over" below and pre-order the record here from Big Potato Records.

Daily Jam - Mercy

When Slowdive broke up in the early/mid '90s, a few of the members soon resurfaced as Mojave 3, shedding most of the shoegaze aesthetic for something more folk-engaged.  While the project never quite grabbed me the way Slowdive did, they were still great.  Here's their first single, "Mercy," our Daily Jam.

Minor Victories

June sees the debut of another supergroup of sorts, Minor Victories, featuring members of Editors, Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai, and Rachel Goswell of Slowdive/Mojave 3 fame.  Check out the synthy, dreamy, though kind of foreboding video for first single "A Hundred Ropes" below and be sure to grab the self-titled record from Fat Possum this summer.

Black Hearted Brother

Early 90's shoegaze act Slowdive have been one of my all-time favorite bands for a long time now, so any time former front man Neil Halstead gets involved in some new music, i take notice, especially when that new work is something as spacey and dreamy and beautiful as "(I Don't Mean To) Wonder," the first release from Halstead's new project with Mark Van Hoen (Seefeel, Locust) and Nick Holton called Black Hearted Brother.  The trio's "Stars Are Our Home" is out in October on Slumberland Records.  I cannot recommend this enough.  Listen below.
