Check out this slow burning cassette screw from Austinite Stefanie Franciotti, better known as the temptress Sleep ∞ Over. "Bathsalts will appear in some form or another on the LP due out this summer from Hippos In Tanks.
Washed Out's debut LP, "Within and Without," comes out via Sub Pop on July 12th just in time to cool us all off from the inevitable heat wave we'll be experiencing (although it's like 50 degrees now, so what do i know). For the price of an email address, you can download the opener, "Eyes Be Closed," below.
May 10th is looking to be a pretty good day for music releases, what with Tyler, The Creator and Zombi both releasing LP's. Top that off with The Lonely Island's latest, and it's like the proverbial cherry on top. The guest list on this album includes Beck, Santigold, Akon, and Michael fucking Bolton. Hazaa!
Gonjasufi (creator of my favorite album of 2010) has posted a cool new song, "Bury Me," on his Myspace page. It's pretty damn good. Stream it here.
It's not all indie jams and horror flicks around here. Football is also alive and well in the Heaven Is An Incubator household (lockouts be damned). And my Saints have scored a couple of good picks in the first round, nabbing DE Cameron Jordan from Cal at 24 and then trading with New England for the 28th pick to secure running back Mark Ingram from 'Bama. Should be good fits. Who Dat!
Benjamin John Power (half of the blissed-out ambient electro-dynamos Fuck Buttons) is set to release a solo work in June called Blanck Mass. It's what you'd expect it to be if you're into Fuck Buttons at all...awesome. Listen to "Land Disasters" and download below. Hooray!
Everyone should go ahead and do themselves a giant favor and buy Numero Group's "Lone Star Lowlands." It's a great compilation of really obscure music recorded in Beaumont, Texas back in the day. Everything (and i seriously mean everything) that Numero has ever put out is brilliant and should be owned by everyone, but as a Texan, i'm highlighting this entry. Check out this synopsis for God's sake:
