Drab Majesty
LA darkwave artist Drab Majesty has a new EP heading our way in August, and comes out swinging with the first single, pairing with Slowdive's Rachel Goswell on backing vocals. Check out the dour and gloomy "Vanity" below and pre-order the "An Object in Motion" EP here from Dais Records.
Daily Jam - The Old Kind of Summer
And now for a track from one of my favorite bands of the last 25 years, The Black Heart Procession. These guys have a vibe and sound that has always tapped a particular vein for me, and oh how i wish they were still making music together. Anyway, here's a track from their debut for what is a very sunny, and likely to be a warm day here in Central Texas. Listen to "The Old Kind of Summer" below, our Daily Jam.

Wireheads
Here's some cool alt-rock from Australian band Wireheads that has that particular bored and sarcastic quality of some of the best '90s rock, of which this is certainly indebted to. Check out "Killer Bee" below and pre-order the upcoming "Potentially Venus" LP here from Tenth Court.
Daily Jam - Don't Look Down
Man, i've been busy today. And it feels like i still have a thousand things to do. Here's some Iggy Pop. Listen to "Don't Look Down" below, our Daily Jam.

Honey Radar
Philly lo-fi rock band Honey Radar are heading out on the road in Europe over the summer, bringing along a tour 7" for the fans. And they've been kind enough to make a few available us kids here on the other side of the pond. Hooray! Dig on the GBV vibes of "English Costume (Melting Cricket)" below and order the "English Costume" 7" here.
Daily Jam - Coast to Coast
These weekends go by way too fast. Here's some Elliott Smith for your Sunday. Listen to "Coast to Coast" below, our Daily Jam.

Kioea
Kioea make surfy, exotic, instrumental psych rock to get lost to. The band's debut full-length, "Stand Tall," is out in August. Check out opening track "Ocean" below, a dreamy song that sounds like it's been pulled from the depths of the Pacific, though the band hails from Maine, and pre-order the LP here.
Daily Jam - Queen St. Gang
Here's some cool organ psych from the short lived UK band Arzachel. The band included members like guitarist Steve Hillage and couple guys who would go on to form Egg. The track "Queen St. Gang" is a reinterpretation of a Keith Mansfield library recording called "Soul Thing" or "Funky Fanfare" depending on where you find it. Dig on this trippy and groovy version below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Plan for Solitude
About a month ago, i stumbled upon what may end up being my favorite album of 2023...and it came out 29 years ago. I'm talking about "Heavenly Persona," the 1994 album from Japanese artist Shizuka. The whole record has a noisy, psych and space tinged shoegaze thing going on, but the standout is the nearly 10-minute lament, "Plan for Solitude." The track somberly floats around like some lost Mazzy Star track before the wailing, guitar freakout hits at the end, an emotional explosion of sound and noise. And while i have no idea what is being sung (it's in Japanese), the melancholy tone of the song just floors me. Sadly, vocalist Shizuka Miura passed away in 2010, but the music lives on. Check it out below, our Daily Jam. And if you dig it, you can snag the reissue that dropped earlier this year here from Black Editions.
