Daily Jam (October Edition) - Libra, The Mirror's Minor Self
I'm always going to miss Broadcast, but every Halloween, i can certainly listen to "Broadcast and The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age" and feel right for a time. Here's a spooky track from said album. Listen to "Libra, The Mirror's Minor Self" below, our Daily Jam.

Broadcast
Next month sees the release of "Distant Call," a collection of demos recorded by Broadcast from 2000 to 2006. And it will be their swan song. With the passing of Trish Keenan back in 2011, bandmate James Cargill has painstakingly released as much material the two were working on and more over the last 13 years: demos, film scores, BBC sessions, and so much more. That door finally closes with "Distant Call." Tear. Check out the unearthed and previously unreleased "Come Back to Me" below and pre-order the album here from Warp.

Broadcast
In September, we are lucky enough to receive two collections of demos from Broadcast, one being "Distant Call," a collection featuring demos recorded between 2000 and 2006 that would eventually become the band's albums that we all know and love. The other is "Spell Blanket," a collection of demos and sketches recorded between 2006 and 2009 up to Trish Keenan's untimely death that would have eventually become the band's fifth album. I'm super stoked for these and don't know if i can wait until September. To tide us over, here's the gentle, whispered "Follow the Light." Check it out below and pre-order both records here from Warp.

Daily Jam - Pendulum
Every day is a good day for Broadcast. In my opinion, one of the top five artists of the last 25 years. Listen to "Pendulum" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam (October Edition) - The Be Colony
Broadcast and The Focus Group really did make a wonderful folk horror record with "Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age." Here's a cut from it as we get closer to Halloween. Listen to "The Be Colony" below, our Daily Jam.

Broadcast
The good folks over at Warp Records are set to release 3 new collections of music from the gone but not forgotten band Broadcast (a perennial favorite around these parts). The albums include two records that were previously tour-only CDs, "Mother Is the Milky Way," and "Microtonics Vols. 1 & 2," and the other, "BBC Maida Vale Sessions," collects recordings from the BBC. All of them are most definitely worth your time. Pre-order them here, and listen to the band cover Nico's "Sixty Forty" below.

Broadcast - Tunnel View (Demo)
Had she not passed away in 2011, Broadcast's Trish Keenan would have turned 49 today. To mark the occasion, surviving Broadcast member James Cargill shared an unreleased demo called "Tunnel View." I'm not sure when it was recorded, but it's pretty, and you can listen to it below.

Odd Nosdam - T r i s h
It's hard to believe it's been almost 5 years since we lost Broadcast's Trish Keenan. In 2013, Anticon member/producer/musician Odd Nosdam released a very limited cassette EP tribute to the late singer, and it's getting a vinyl reissue this month on Sonic Cathedral. It's hazy. It's beautiful. It's wonderful. Listen to "T r i s h" below.

The Focus Group
I first heard The Focus Group a few years ago on their wonderful collaborative album with Broadcast, "...Investigate Witch Cults of The Radio Age," a strange and eclectic mix of organs, sound effects, bits of obscure film, and an overall feeling of European horror movie trippiness. Excellent stuff. Their latest, "Elektrik Karousel," from Ghost Box keeps moving forward with the assistance of the surviving half of Broadcast, and some forays into freaky folk. There's still a total Giallo vibe, which is nice, as well as some bits of prog, psych, and jazz. Perfect experimental music. Listen to "SPOLK" below.
