HEALTH Featuring Lauren Mayberry

LA noisemakers HEALTH just dropped a new version of their song "Ashamed."  The track originally appeared on last year's "Rat Wars" LP, but this time around features CHVRCHES lead singer Lauren Mayberry on vocals.  I love how these guys can bounce around from metal to noise rock to disco to darkwave synth pop to techno and back again.  Check it out below and download the new version here from Loma Vista Recordings.

CHVRCHES Remix John Carpenter

I just can't help but love the phases of John Carpenter's career, from master genre film creator to his current position of synth wave artist and father figure to likeminded electronic music enthusiasts.  The music has been stellar, and a treasure trove of other artists seemingly line up to remix it all.  The latest comes from Scottish trio CHVRCHES.  Check out their mix of "Turning the Bones" below and pre-order the upcoming 7", featuring Carpenter remixing CHVRCHES on the B-side, here from Sacred Bones.

CHVRCHES cover Bauhaus

The doom and gloom purveyors of Goth Bauhaus get the cover treatment from Scottish, electro-pop trio CHVRCHES on the upcoming soundtrack to "Vampire Academy," a movie i've never heard of.  I never would have imagined "Bela Lugosi's Dead" in this manner, but it's ultimately pretty damn enjoyable.  Listen below.

CHVRCHES at Mohawk pics

Awash in a sea of hipster kids at least a decade my junior, i caught CHVRCHES and Still Corners at The Mohawk last night and both bands were lovely, though both seemed unprepared for the heat assault of June in Austin.  It was a great show, sold out and crowded, and even Ben Savage was there (Cory Mathews whassup!).  Check out some pics below.
