Last week, the mysterious and prolific UK outfit Sault dropped five new albums for free download if you could crack the password.  A simple Google search took care of that.  And now this week, they're all available for vinyl pre-order.  All five have their own distinct sound and flavor, but are all worth your time.  "Untitled (God)" carries on the gospel, funk, soul, and hip-hop of the previous two "Untitled" albums, while "AIIR" continues the Sun-Ra inspired cosmic jazz of this year's prior release "AIR."  "Earth" brings in the African tones and beats, and "11" sequences itself behind the group's previous numeric releases.  Finally, we have "Today & Tomorrow" which brings in some lo-fi psych blues riffs and children's vocals a la the Langley Schools Music Project.  Just phenomenal stuff all around.  I spent a bit of money yesterday.  Anyway, give them all a listen, check out "Heal the World" below, and pre-order everything here from Forever Living Originals.

UK artist Sault just dropped a new EP called "10" and track called "Angel."  The song is actually 3 songs and a spoken word piece, incorporates some reggae into the usual mix of jazz, soul, and hip-hop, and is pretty awesome.  Check it out below and download "10" here from Forever Living Originals.

Sault dropped a new album out of the blue this week, and it finds the mysterious producer/artist in different waters.  On "Air," the artist pushes his funk, soul, and hip-hop sounds to the side for something more celestial.  Interstellar jazz and cinematic orchestral pop collide with choirs and an immense atmosphere, like calling down the heavens.  It's a wonderful and beautiful detour.  Check out the album opening "Reality" below and order the record here from Forever Living Originals.

Having released four of my favorite albums of the last two years, i suppose i shouldn't be surprised that the enigmatic UK act Sault is back at it again with new album "Nine."  The usual mix of soul, funk, hip-hop, and everything in between is in the air again, and we are here for it around these parts.  Check out "London Gangs" below and get the record here from Forever Living Originals.

Mysterious UK outfit Sault are back with a new album today, after last year's one, two punch of "5" and "7."  The new record, "Untitled (Black Is)," is a powerful testament to blackness, channeling a whole range of emotions of this very moment in time and utilizing that anger and rage as well as that love and camaraderie to create something truly poignant and magnificent.  Elements of Motown soul, Afro-psych, gospel, hip-hop, and R&B shine throughout.  We just got ourselves a record of the year contender.  Check out "Eternal Life" below and get the record here from Forever Living Originals.

Last night i came across the music of the mysterious band(?), artist(?), project(?), producer(?) Sault and was absolutely floored.  A fusion of soul, funk, krautrock, world beat, alt-rock, and more more more, the songs on debut album "5" sound like they're simultaneously from the past and the future.  I want to inject this directly into my brain.  No word on a physical release yet, though they are tied to something called Forever Living Originals, but you can stream the whole thing here, and in the meantime listen to the phenomenal "Let Me Go" below.
