Daily Jam - We Are Safe Inside While They Burn Down Our House

The last few months, i've been going back and listening to a lot of CD's i got back in the '00s.  It's a whole lot of indie rock (which was booming at the time).  I have to be honest that a lot of it has aged like milk, but there are still several albums that ring true to these ears.  One of those is the debut album of German artist Get Well Soon, "Rest Now, Weary Head! You Will Get Well Soon."  The record is moody and eclectic and still hits all the right buttons like it did back in 2008.  Check out the almost mournful "We Are Safe Inside While They Burn Down Our House" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Your Endless Dream

Here's a track from one of my favorite albums of 2008.  Check out the melancholy quasi-spaghetti western sounds of "Your Endless Dream" by Get Well Soon, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam (Covers Week) - Oh My Love

Posting about Paul Wibier's "Satan" yesterday and thinking about Danzig's cover of the song put me in a little bit of a covers mood, so we'll be doing covers all week long here.  First up is German artist Get Well Soon and his wonderful version of Riz Ortolani's and Katyna Ranieri's "Oh My Love."  The original first appeared in the Italian exploitation film "Addio Zio Tom," but is probably more recognizable today due to its prominence in Nicolas Winding Refn's "Drive."  Check out the cover version below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam (Covers Week) - Born Slippy (Nuxx)

A lot of the time, my favorite covers are the ones that seem to come completely out of left field, songs you wouldn't expect to be covered in the fashion that they're being covered in, and earnestly.  And so, i was taken a little aback by German progressive, indie folk rock group Get Well Soon's amazingly good version of Underworld's "Born Slippy (Nuxx)," featured on their 2008 album "Rest Now Weary Head! You Will Get Well Soon."  Give it a listen below, our Daily Jam.
