Dead Horses

Italian band Dead Horses released one of my favorite albums of 2017 with their debut "Ballad for Losers," their particular brand of lo-fi cowpunk scratching that particular itch just right.  And i hadn't heard from them since.  I was wondering if they were even still around, and then i got the news this morning of their upcoming sophomore effort "Sunny Days."  New tune "Macabro" keeps their cowpunk intact but adds in some extra Spaghetti Western moods for good measure.  Check it out below and pre-order the record here from Maple Death Records.

Dark Canyon

I love the dusty mix of psych, folk, surf, and more that makes up the sounds of old Spaghetti Western music.  And it's wonderful that there are artists out there still finding influence from the scores of Morricone et al.  The latest comes from Chicago project Dark Canyon.  Check out the pitch perfect "Ouroboros" below and pick up the artist's self-titled LP here.

Daily Jam - Django

A few weeks back, i finally saw Sergio Corbucci's "Django," and loved it.  I don't know why it took me so long, as the Spaghetti Western style is very much my shit.  Anyway, true to form as with other films of the genre and era, the soundtrack is killer.  Listen to Luis Bacalov's theme, "Django," which naturally was also used in Tarantino's "Django Unchained," below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Unchained Malady

I've been a fan of Federale for a few years, ever since first hearing them on the soundtrack to "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night," but for some reason i totally slept on their latest release, last year's "No Justice."  Shame on me.  So let's remedy that.  Here's the totally spaghetti western inspired "Unchained Malady," our Daily Jam.
