Daily Jam - Better Man
A few years back, Fort Worth soul artist Leon Bridges shook things up a little bit with his throwback style and sound, putting old school soul music back into our brains and earholes. Shortly after the release of his debut full-length LP, "Coming Home," selections from the album were reworked and remixed by producer Mick featuring some assists from rappers like fellow Texan Bun B. In this household, the addition of Bun B is always a reason to celebrate. So here's the group's reworking of "Better Man," our Daily Jam.

Khruangbin & Leon Bridges
The exotic psychedelic sounds of Khruangbin get paired with the throwback, old school soul of Leon Bridges on the upcoming collaborative "Texas Sun" EP from the two artists. And it's a wonderful mix, some desert Americana that plays like lost gems on an old AM radio station. Check out the title track below and pre-order the record here from Dead Oceans.

Leon Bridges - Bad Bad News
Aside from an appearance on "Sesame Street" recently (we watch a lot of Elmo in my house), Texas soul revivalist Leon Bridges has been fairly quiet of late. And now, we get word of a new album, "Good Thing," due in May, and a couple of new tunes. Listen to the jazzy "Bad Bad News" below.

MICK and Leon Bridges - Coming Home to Texas
Already having a spectacular year, Fort Worth soul man Leon Bridges just released a new collaborative album with MICK, featuring remixes and reinterpretations of songs from this year's "Coming Home" LP. "Coming Home to Texas" features Houston rappers Bun B and Slim Thug as well as a whole slew of samples and beats. Listen to "Better Man" featuring Bun B and production from Chi Duly below and go here to download the whole thing for free.
Free online album releases are apparently the taste du jour this week, with this, a hip-hop heavy album from Toro Y Moi, and a surprisingly good effort from Miley Cyrus (don't judge me) hitting in the last few days.

Here's some awesome throwback soul music for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Leon Bridges hails from Fort Worth and sounds like a man out of time...and he's pretty damn amazing. Take a listen to and download "Coming Home" below, produced by Austin Jenkins and Josh Block from White Denim. So looking forward to more music from this guy in the future.
