The Odyssey Cult

Bonner Kramer + Thurston Moore

Longtime New York journeyman musician and composer Bonner Kramer is pairing with Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore for upcoming new album "The Came Like Swallows: Seven Requiems for the Children of Gaza."  The record combines elements of psych, improvisational jazz, noise rock, and more to craft a delirious collage of sounds.  Check out "Urn Burial" below and pre-order the LP here from Silver Current Records.

Orcutt Shelley Miller

Likeminded experimental artists Bill Orcutt (Harry Pussy), Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), and Ethan Miller (Comets on Fire) are teaming together for a new collaborative project naturally called Orcutt Shelley Miller.  The album finds the artist grooving on a nice and noisy vibe, a mix of cosmic space rock and stoner jams.  Check out "A Star Is Born" below and pre-order the self-titled LP here from Silver Current Records.

Julie Beth Napolin

Galaxie 500

It sure would be cool if old school Boston indie band Galaxie 500 were to reunite and give me a chance to see them live.  At the moment, there's nothing like that in sight, but at least we're getting a sweet new collection of B-sides and rarities with the upcoming "Uncollected Noise New York '88-'90."  Check out the previously unreleased "I Wanna Live" below and pre-order the LP here from Silver Current Records.

Magic Fig

San Francisco has been kicking out the psych pop jams for 60 years now, and some of the latest come from the sweet and dreamy vibes of Magic Fig.  The band's self-titled debut drops this Friday.  Get it here from Silver Current Records and listen to the lovely "PS1" below.

Mammatus

You gotta love when an album cover gives you pretty much all the information you need on what the music therein sounds like.  And so we have "Expanding Majesty," the latest release from Mammatus.  Trippy, heady, proggy, stoned, psychedelic rock prevails.  Check out the title track below and download the album here from Silver Current Records (the vinyl is sadly already sold out).

Fuckwolf

Feral Ohms

Like a full frontal audio assault to the head, Oakland band Feral Ohms bring all the noise, all the mayhem, and all the rock n' roll to level every city and state before them.  An absolutely blistering and frenetic take on garage and punk rock, the band's self-titled album slaps you upside the head and spits in your eye in the same moment.  These guys have definitely moved onto my must-see-live list.  Listen to album opener "Love Damage" below and get the record from Silver Current.
