Daily Jam - Refugee
I seem to always forget how many Tom Petty songs i like until i hear one in passing somewhere. And then i'm like, oh yeah, this guy ruled. Anyway, here he is with The Heartbreakers and "Refugee," our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Runnin' Down a Dream
Years back when Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers played the Super Bowl halftime show, i remember that Vegas was running numbers on what songs would be performed. And man do i wish i'd placed that bet because i nailed it. Anyway, he closed that show with "Runnin' Down a Dream," our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - It's Good to Be King
The other day, i was digging around online listening to a lot of '80s and '90s stuff that i haven't paid attention to in a long time and ended up giving Tom Petty's "Wildflowers" LP a spin, something i probably haven't listened to in 25 years. Two things to note: 1) It's a fantastic album, and 2) I had completely forgotten about "It's Good to Be King." It's been in heavy rotation ever since. So check it out below, our Daily Jam.
For some reason, this post (along with several others) from back in March was deleted in err by Blogger. They have reinstated it, but i'm having to repost it.

Isobel Campbell covers Tom Petty
Scottish singer/songwriter Isobel Campbell has made a name for herself over the last 25 years as a solo artist, as well as a frequent collaborator with Mark Lanegan and former member of Belle and Sebastian. Her new album "There Is No Other...," the first in over a decade, is full of dreamy, folk-tinged pop, including this lovely cover of Tom Petty's "Runnin' Down a Dream." Check it out below and get the record here.

RIP Tom Petty
This day just keeps getting worse and worse. RIP Tom Petty. To me, you'll always be that weird, kind of creepy, stoner guy from MTV when i was growing up, or maybe Lucky from "King of the Hill." Either way, it's hard to think of someone cooler.
