Woods was one of those bands i got into pretty heavily back in the indie rock heyday of the late '00s, their distinct brand of lo-fi psych folk singing to my soul.  Band member Jeremy Bradley Earl is set to release his debut solo material next month with the upcoming "Four Songs" EP.  Listen to the excellent "Let the Snow Fall" below and pre-order the album here or here (cassette) from Woodsist.

Dungen & Woods

Mexican Summer's Marfa Myths has been a pretty interesting little festival these last couple of years, and someday i'm really going to have to venture west into the desert to check this music and art gathering out.  The lineups are always great, both sonically and visually, the whole thing seems like this really cool and intimate affair.  So far, each year has spawned a collaborative record from a pair of artist released on the record label as a kind of series called "Myths."  2015 gave us work from Connan Mockasin and Dev Hynes from Blood Orange and 2016 was an almost madrigal pairing of Ariel Pink and Weyes Blood.  2017's effort, which comes out in March, is a collection of poppy, folksy psych jams from the boys in Dungen and Woods.  Listen to "Turn Around" below and pre-order the record here.  Also, get tickets to the festival here if you are so inclined.  This year's collaboration will be from Deerhunter/Atlas Sound main man Bradford Cox and Cate Le Bon.

Woods - Love Is Love

Psych rock band Woods recorded a new 6-song EP called "Love Is Love" late last year, a reaction to all of the bullshit that went down in November...and continues to on a daily basis now.  Listen to the title track below, a blend of 60's Americana, psych rock, and some 70's African psych as well.  Get the record in April on Woodsist, and keep fighting on.

Woods - Sun City Creeps

Woods have been cracking out dependable little indie-lo-fi-psych-folk-pop nuggets for over a decade now, and they still show no sign of slowing down at all.  New album "City Sun Eater in the River of Light" hits the shelves and waves in April on Woodsist, and first taste "Sun City Creeps" finds the band traversing in some new sounds.  Flourishes of African jazz and desert blues highlight the new jam, giving it a full and cinematic vibe.  Listen below.
