I've written it before and will probably write it again, but it sure seems like no one has picked up the sounds and aesthetic of shoegaze to carry on quite like the Japanese have.  Tokyo band re:lapse continues the trend with the release of their third EP, "III."  Check out the dreamy noise of "Emotion" below and download the album here from Dreamwaves Records.

I joke around a lot about how there must be something in the water in Sweden and Australia, as those two countries seem to release an endless amount of fantastic psych rock.  And really, i need to start saying the same thing about Japan and shoegaze, because some of the loveliest, noisiest, dreamiest shoegaze comes from there.  Case in point is the upcoming new EP from re:lapse.  I first heard the band last year, and dug them instantly, and i'm stoked for the follow up.  Listen to "Timeless Melody" below and order the "re:lapse II.ep" EP here from Dreamwaves Records out next week.
