Easily one of my favorite rap artists to emerge over the last decade, Canada's Backxwash raps with a kind of inner turmoil, angst, and almost utter despair that is totally unmatched. Her delivery is angry and urgent, as it should be, coming from dark places and possibly even darker futures, mixing in elements of heavy metal, industrial, post rock, and drone for the complete effect.
