Drone and folk go hand in hand when done right.  They just do, the two genres creating something eerie and earthy when played together.  Here's some drone folk from UK artist Alison Cotton to grey up our Saturday.  Listen to "Violet May" below and pre-order the upcoming "The Portrait You Painted of Me" LP here from Rocket Recordings.

Experimental psych artist Alison Cotton's work has been described as "contemporary psychedelic folk and viola trance-out," and that's good enough for me, and more than enough to pique my interest.  Listen to the droney, meditative "All Is Quiet at the Ancient Theatre" below and snag a copy of the album of the same name here via Bloxham Tapes.
