Forest Swords

I haven't thought about the dark electronic sounds of UK artist Forest Swords in quite a while, but he's back with new single "Butterfly Effect."  The song pairs cold industrial beats and hum with the sampled vocals of Nenah Cherry to hypnotizing effect.  Check it out below and download it here from Ninja Tune.

Forest Swords

Forest Swords already released and amazing album of experimental electronic music earlier this year, but here's two more new tracks just released by the artist.  Listen to "Congregate" and "Free" below, and buy the tracks here, courtesy of Ninja Tune.  All proceeds go to aid Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, and Mexico for hurricane/earthquake relief.

Forest Swords

Hey everybody, Forest Swords put out a new record on Friday.  Did i forget to mention that?  Shame on me.  Anyway, "Compassion" is available now via Ninja Tune, and it's a dark and moody piece of sound.  Listen to album opener "War It" below.

Forest Swords - The Highest Flood

Although it occurs all too infrequently, it's always nice to get new music from UK producer Forest Swords.  Yesterday, the artist released a new song, "The Highest Flood," an odd and cinematic piece of foreboding darkness that's equal parts horror score and experimental goth.  Call me a fan.  Listen below and get it here.

Forest Swords - Shrine: Original Dance Score

It seems like it's been a little while since we last heard from Liverpool-based, experimental artist Forest Swords, but he's back with "Shrine," an original score created for a contemporary dance piece.  The six-part soundtrack is ambient and haunting, a mix of warm and cold textures and seemingly distant sounds.  Listen to "Shrine Hold" below, grab the download here, or get the record here.

Haleek Maul - Lobo

Last year, Barbadian rapper Haleek Maul released an excellent mixtape with Chicago producer Supreme Cuts.  "Chrome Lips" was a groovy mix of murky production and subdued vocals.  Hell, they even sample King Crimson.  Maul seems to be continuing his thread of working with producers who compliment his flow perfectly, as evidenced by new jam "Lobo," featuring production by Forest Swords.  It's fantastic, and i can only hope that a full album's worth of material might be on the table.  In the meantime listen to "Lobo" below.

New Forest Swords

It's been a little while since we last heard from experimental sound collage artists Forest Swords (2010 to be exact), but they just sent out a new cosmic track into the ether.  "Thor's Stone" is the sound of uncovering a remote tribe in the jungles of somewhere, unmarked and unphased by the modern world and it's blinking lights.  Listen below.
