Perturbator & Kabbel Cover Depeche Mode
I was unaware that an "American Psycho" comic book was something that existed. Or that said comic book had a soundtrack. Or that said soundtrack included French synthwave artist Perturbator covering a Depeche Mode B-side with a little help from Swedish artist Kabbel. But all those things are true. Big thanks to Shawn Baker for clueing me on to this. Check out the track below.

Augustus Miller, one half of the Massachusetts darkwave group Boy Harsher, is set to drop "Cellulosed Bodies" in September, a collection of soundtracks the artist created for a couple of different projects called "Crash" and "Automaton." GUNSHIP
UK synthwave artist GUNSHIP has a new album coming our way in September, and it has a whole slew of different guest artists on it. Some of these guests seem obvious (Carpenter Brut, Power Glove, John Carpenter), and some others not so much (Dave Lombardo, Gavin Rossdale, Britta Phillips). At any rate, i await hearing the whole thing. In the meanwhile, check out the Power Glove assisted "Ghost" below and pre-order the "Unicorn" album here.

Final Light
Before i went to bed last night, i came across the very cool new project from James Kent of Perturbator fame and Johannes Persson from Cult of Luna. Final Light combines the dark synths and video game techno of Peturbator with the heavy death metal of Cult of Luna, and it works to monstrous effect. Check out "In the Void" below and pre-order the upcoming self-titled album here from Red Creek.

Erang
French artist Erang is one of the originators of the dungeon synth sound that's been in various corners of the underground this last decade, and he's just released an epic new collection of music entitled "Land of the Five Seasons" released in 5 parts. Beginning with "A Season of Frost," and moving on with "A Season of Leaves," "A Season of Sand," "A Season of Bloom," and finally "A Season of Magic," the project meshes dungeon synth with elements of black metal, synthwave, electronica, drone, and more to essentially create and soundtrack a whole world. It's pretty cool stuff. Listen to "The Absolute End of Everything Human" from "A Season of Magic" below and download everything here.

Project Lazarus
Russian electronic artist Project Lazarus makes throwback music that feels like it should be soundtracking cold war era footage of Soviet space launches, military propaganda, and frozen Siberian tundra. It rules. Check out "Прощай Земля" below and pay what you want for the new "Учитесь Защищать Родину!" album here from VILL4IN. Sadly the vinyl is already sold out MTHRBORD.

Zeal & Ardor Remixed by GEIZ
One more remix for the morning. Back in May, New York's Zeal & Ardor released new track "Run," an intense mix of the band's particular style of death metal and bluesy spirituals. As per usual with the group, it ruled. And now it gets an insane remix from GEIZ. The new version keeps the death metal and adds a bunch of industrial mayhem and synthwave techno. It also rules. Check it out below and get both versions of "Run" here from MVKA.

Daily Jam - Polaroïd/Roman/Photo
It's gray outside so hopefully that means it will stay reasonably cool while i subject myself to a myriad of different physical tortures here forth to be known as lawn work. Let's see if some '80s French synthwave can make things more endurable. Here's "Polaroïd/Roman/Photo" from Ruth, our Daily Jam.

Timothy Fife
For about a decade now (probably longer), i've been a big, big fan of the synthwave genre, all of that retro-futuristic synthesizer hum. It hits me in all the right places, and as i've sampled music from here and there, the name Timothy Fife comes up a lot on various recordings and compilations...and with good reason too. A synth wizard of sorts, the artist composes all manner of electro-soundscapes, imaginary soundtracks to get lost in for a while. His latest, the "Hoici The Earless" album is a re-imagined score for the Japanese horror anthology "Kwaidan." The whole thing was originally written and performed live at an event during SXSW in 2017, but has now made its way on to cassette courtesy of Lighten Up Sounds. Listen to the whole thing below and snag a copy here.

Cult of Luna and Julie Christmas remixed by Perturbator
I don't really know anything about Swedish metal band Cult of Luna or New York artist Julie Christmas, but apparently they put out a collaborative record back in 2016, and now one of the tracks off of that album has gotten the remix treatment from synthwave powerhouse Perturbator. And that's really all i need to know. Listen to "Cygnus (Perturbator Remix)" below and cop the download here.

Le Matos featuring Computer Magic
I've heard some good things about the upcoming film, "Summer of '84," and that the guys who made "Turbo Kid" are involved, i'm all in. And it appears that synthwave act Le Matos are back in the mix as well, providing the score and some pop songs as well. Check out the Computer Magic assisted "Cold Summer" below, download it from the band here, and then swing over here to grab the whole soundtrack from Mondo/Death Waltz.
