Daily Jam - Deanna (Acoustic Version)

Starting the year off as positive as possible.  And Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds' acoustic version of "Deanna" seemed like a good way to begin.  Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Party Dozen Featuring Nick Cave

Sydney's Party Dozen make noisy, sax-infused, no-wave and punk inspired music to melt your brain to.  Here they are with an assist from Nick Cave making some of that said noise.  Check out "Macca the Mutt" below and pre-order the band's upcoming "The Real Work" LP here from Temporary Residence.

Daily Jam - All the Pretty Little Horses

Though it came out in 1996, for some reason i'm only just now hearing the Current 93/Nick Cave collaboration "All the Pretty Little Horses."  It's a haunting little folk tune, something to stick to your bones.  Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis

Yesterday Nick Cave and Warren Ellis surprise released a new album called "Carnage."  Like the bulk of Cave's work of late, it's really dense and heavy (thematically), and after sitting with it a little while yesterday, also astoundingly good.  Check out the opening track "Hand of God" below be on the lookout for the vinyl release in May.

Nick Cave Covers T. Rex

September will bring us "Angelheaded Hipster," a massive tribute album to Marc Bolan and T. Rex compiled and produced by the late Hal Willner.  The lineup of contributing artists is eclectic to say the least, and your mileage may vary (U2 and Elton John perform "Bang a Gong (Get it On)" because of course they do).  But we do get Nick Cave taking on one of T. Rex favorites.  Watch the video for "Cosmic Dancer" below and pre-order the album here.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Last week Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds released a new album called "Ghosteen," premiering it on YouTube in full.  I haven't had the chance to sit and listen in full yet, but from the songs i've listened to so far, this one's going to weigh heavy on the heart.  Stream the entire thing below and pre-order the LP here.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - Skeleton Tree

Any kind of release from Nick Cave is always an event in and of itself, but the upcoming new album from The Bad Seeds, September's "Skeleton Tree," has an accompanying film called "One More Time with Feeling" that will be released the night before the album, and will be the first place you can hear the new songs.  This will be the first new music from Cave since losing his son last year, and i feel that the record may be an emotionally tough listen, for my ears anyway.  Watch the trailer for the movie/record below and pre-order the album here.

Marianne Faithfull

The legendary Marianne Faithfull singing a somber ballad penned by Nick Cave?  That's all you had to tell me.  Take a listen to the haunting "Late Victorian Holocaust" below and be on the lookout for new album "Give My Love to London" in November on Easy Sound Recording Company.
