Algiers

Post punk band Algiers released the excellent collaborative track "Bite Back" with Billy Woods and Backxwash last month, infusing all kinds of new sounds into their usual mix of post punk, soul, and gospel.  That was just the teaser.  February brings us new album "Shook," featuring a slew of different guest artists to shake things up (pun absolutely intended), including Rage Against the Machine's Zack De La Rocha.  Check out "Irreversible Damage" below and pre-order the record here from Matador.

Zack de la Rocha - Digging for Windows

There's been talk of a Zack de la Rocha solo album for years now, the former Rage Against the Machine front man recording tracks in sessions with everyone from DJ Shadow to Trent Reznor.  And now it looks like we may actually get one, this one recorded with El-P.  I loved de la Rocha's contribution to Run the Jewels' sophomore effort a couple of years ago, so this is welcome news.  And the track that's out today sounds pretty awesome.  Listen to "Digging for Windows" below, and be on the lookout for an album sometime in 2017.

Run the Jewels and Zack de la Rocha

Run the Jewels team up with former Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha for new jam "Close your Eyes (and Count to Fuck)" from the upcoming "Run the Jewels 2."  That's right.  Killer Mike, El-P, and Zack de la Rocha are all on a track together.  And it kills.  Take a listen below and get the album later this month from Mass Appeal.
