Magdalena Bay
LA pop duo Magdalena Bay have dropped a handful of new songs over the last month. They're all worth checking out, but for the meantime, here's "Human Happens" with some very seasonally appropriate cover art. Listen below and download everything here from the band.

The Lonely Bell
Here's some spooky, atmospheric ambient drone music from Scottish artist The Lonely Bell to set the mood right tomorrow night. Inspired by the sounds of found footage films, the 35-minute long "Found Footage" is an "abstract sonic love letter" to the horror subgenre. Check it out below and download it here from the artist.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - Myers' House
On some Halloweens, there's a house at the end of my block whose resident dresses as Michael Myers and slowly follows the trick-or-treaters down the street while playing tracks from the soundtrack on his stereo. I love it. The kids love it. And the whole thing is maybe the funniest when he just stands by the big bush in his front yard and stares. All the while, John Carpenter's "Myers' House" plays. I hope he revives it tomorrow night. In the meanwhile, listen to the track below, our Daily Jam.

Check out the also weird and wonderful album opener "Nobody Cares" below, a kind of dusty, cinematic mix of old pop sounds. And pre-order the EP here from Fire Records.

Magic Wands
We first heard the dreamy, shoegaze-tinged darkwave synth pop of LA duo Magic Wands around these parts earlier this year with a couple of lovely singles. And now they're back with a new full-length effort, "Cascades." Check out the moody opener "Across the Water" below and get the LP here from Metropolis Records.
The Serfs
Hey! Yesterday, the excellent, multi-layered Cincinnati post-punk band The Serfs just dropped two new tunes for your ears and mine. On A-side "Cold Hand in Mine," the band almost seems to be channeling some Brian Jonestown Massacre vibes for some cool, droney psych rock. Check it out below and download it along with "The Work (Never Ends)" here from Future Shock.
Smote
In the mood for something dark and foreboding, and maybe a little Pagan, to set the mood this week? Well, here's some very cool, droney, stoner metal-tinged, psychedelic, doom folk from UK artist Smote. New album "Songs from the Free House" dropped earlier this month on Rocket Recordings. Download it here and listen to "The Linton Wyrm" below.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - Spiderbaby (Yeah-Yeah-Yeah)
I suppose it's not really Halloween until you listen to some White Zombie. So here's some White Zombie. Listen to "Spiderbaby (Yeah-Yeah-Yeah)" below, our Daily Jam.

GUU
Feeling like it's a psych and prog kind of morning, so here's some psych and prog from Indonesian band GUU with some added analog electronic elements on "Folivora I." Dig on the mind and cosmos expanding track below and download the band's new "Folivora" EP here from Orange Cliff Records.
Magic Fig
San Francisco band Magic Fig have a kind of psych pop meets prog thing going on on their upcoming album "Valerian Tea." Dig on the especially proggy synth opening of "Flammarion" below for confirmation and pre-order the LP here.

Lone Distance Driver & Omilgop
Meekness is not weakness. Earlier this year, South Korean artist Omilgop released the excellent "Funeral," a slowcore-tinged, lo-fi, bedroom rock opus. He follows that up with an equally excellent collaborative effort, "Our Unsung Memories," with San Diego artist Lone Distance Driver. "Sunset Memory" plays like something i would have played to death when i was a teenager, underground alt-rock to soothe the soul. Check it out below and download the album here.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - Insane in an Insane World
Here's a little garage rock from The Wolfmen to start what is a foggy Sunday morning here in Central Texas. "Insane in an Insane World" comes from an excellent split 7" with The Mummies featuring some of my favorite album art ever by the one and only Coop. Check the track out below, our Daily Jam.

Sungaze
Here's a cool track from Cincinnati shoegaze band Sungaze that i somehow missed over the summer. "Rice Crispies" is the perfect kind of hazy jam to transition into fall to. Check it out below and download it from the band here.

Optic Sink
On the upcoming new album "Lucky Number," Memphis trio Optic Sink make a groovy and catchy mix of minimal synth pop and post punk. "Construction" sounds effortless cool, and for some reason, makes me want to smoke a cigarette. Check it out below and pre-order the LP here from Feel It Records.
Metavari
Indiana electronic, ambient, and synth wave artist Metavari is set to release new album "House Tetra Sessions Vol. 1" next month. The album includes live recordings, excerpts, and re-recordings of previous material. Check out "Infinite Dark (Babel)," a live reimagining of the "Babel" excerpt from 2017's "Metropolis" LP, below and get the album here.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - I Drink Blood
Way back in the late '90s, a bunch of bands got together to make Halloween compilation like you used to see in the '60s called "Halloween Hootenanny." One of those bands was San Diego band Rocket from the Crypt. Here's there contribution. Listen to "I Drink Blood" below, our Daily Jam.

Winged Wheel
Detroit's noisy, no-wave-tinged, post punk band Winged Wheel have been killing it the last couple of years with their first two albums. And now we have a third on the way early next year with "Desert So Green." Check out the nervous energy of "Speed Table" below and pre-order the LP here from 12XU.
Jim Jarmusch & Anika
Writer/director/musician Jim Jarmusch has a new movie heading our way in December with "Father Mother Sister Brother." Check out the tranquil, ambient Americana vibes of "Jetlag" from the score below and pre-order the LP here from Sacred Bones.

We're getting a new album next month from Daniel Lopatin's long running electronic project Oneohtrix Point Never. Listen to "Bumpy" below and pre-order the "Tranquilizer" LP here from Warp Records.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - Over at the Frankenstein Place
It's been a long time since i last watched "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Even longer since i last saw it in a theater with a bunch of likeminded freaks and weirdos. I need to remedy both of those. Anyhoo, here's the cast, including Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, and Richard O'Brien, with the glammy and wonderful "Over at the Frankenstein Place," our Daily Jam.

New Romantics
I've probably been goofing off too much this morning, so i guess it's back to work for me. Got a meeting in about 15 minutes too. Anyway, i'll leave you for the day with some new music from Knoxville, Tennessee synth pop band New Romantics. The group's sophomore album "No Life" is out in December on Gezellig Records. Pre-order it here and listen to the excellent lead off single "Low Stakes" below.

Daily Jam (October Edition) - Make Love on the Wing
I don't know why so many Italian horror movies always seem to have the prettiest soundtracks. But they do. It's a fact of life. Here's some of Nico Fidenco's score from the film "Zombi Holocaust." Listen to "Make Love on the Wing" below, our Daily Jam.

Elias Rønnenfelt
I somehow missed that Iceage front man Elias Rønnenfelt dropped a new solo album last week. I'm trying to catch up on "Speak Daggers" this afternoon, and i'm really digging the dubby, trippy track "Crush the Devils Head." There's a subdued unease to it that feels just right for the fall. Check it out below and snag the LP here from Escho.
LUNACY
Pennsylvania artist LUNACY has been releasing cold and brooding drone and noise rock-tinged darkwave and experimental music for a few years now, and it seems the project is now coming to its conclusion with the upcoming "The Crisis of Existence" LP. Always sad to see an artist call it quits, but better to go out before the well dries up. Listen to "Frozen in Time" below and pre-order the album here from the artist.
