Josh Homme

Here's the latest jam from Josh Homme, taken from the closing credits of the film "End of Watch."  Hopefully, "Nobody to Love" is just a teaser before a new Queens of The Stone Age album.  Listen to the track below.

Still Corners

Put on your best formal wear, take a sip of punch, and score one last dance before the night is over to the latest dreamy pop tune from London's Still Corners.  "Fireflies" comes from the band's tour only 7" which you can score if you happen to be seeing them in Europe.  Listen and download below.

I.M.M.O.R.T.A.L.I.F.E or Prince Rama

Here's another new track from Prince Rama's upcoming ridiculous concept album from Paw Tracks.  This go around, they don the band identity of I.M.M.O.R.T.A.L.I.F.E.  Read the synopsis of said band below:

"In the early eighties, a London sex cult infiltrated underground discotheques based on the principle that the secret to immortality was found through engaging in intimate acts of love. To retain their anonymity, members went by the acronym I.M.M.OR.T.A.L.I.F.E., or 'Inner Messages Morphing Over Resonant Time, Always Loving Infinitely Free and Everlasting'. For years, I.M.M.O.R.T.A.L.I.F.E. dedicated itself to recording dance track hymnals that would provoke lovemaking acts and thus prolong the lives of its members. When the end of the world came, the group was found frozen in midst of an orgiastic collapse. They had not slept or eaten in thirteen days."

Hells yeah.  Listen to "Those Who Live For Love Will Live Forever" below.

Holy Shit

Finally!  Finally there's a band called Holy Shit to take its reign over all the other "holy" bands.  And they're good too.  Listen to "You Made My Dreams Come True" from their upcoming 12" single on Fat Possum.  It's a groovy and epic bedroom jam coming straight at your face!

Ultraista & David Lynch

Check out David Lynch 's (yes, that David Lynch) dark and foreboding remix of "Strange Formula" by Nigel Godrich's Ultraista project.  Good stuff.  Also, look out for the Ultraista's debut LP next week from Temporary Residence.

Matamoros / Derek Rogers & R. Lee Dockery

Anytime i can hype up a friend's project is awesome, especially when said project is a good one.  Droney, minimalist atmospherics from Austin's own R. Lee Dockery and Derek Rogers.  The two team up on the Matamoros "Reflection Duct" cassette and wander separately on their own strange paths on the "Things Are Different Now" cassette.  Listen to "Reflection Duct I" from the Matamoros tape below and grab the albums at Space Slave (they are extremely limited, so hurry up).

TEEN & Peaking Lights

Brooklyn space-pop meets Wisconsin dub-pop.  The results are kind of hypnotic.  Listen to (and download) Peaking Lights' remix of TEEN's "Sleep Is Noise" below.

Flying Lotus

"Until The Quiet Comes," the wonderful new LP from LA producer Flying Lotus comes out next week courtesy of Warp Records.  A beautiful mix of electronic noises, wistful folk melodies, and hip-hop beats, the record is a welcome beginning to the fall months.  The album also features appearances from Erykah Badu and Thom Yorke on vocals.  Listen to the Laura Darlington assisted "Phantasm" below...it's like taking a warm bath.

Strange Forces

I love that acid freak-out music is still a thing...and always should be a thing.  Outer dimensional guitar noise meets krautrock-precise drum work with Berlin's Strange Forces.  Their "I'd Rather Listen to The Bloody Birds" album is due soon (go here for future info), but in the meantime, check out the warbled and distorted VHS video for "Castle Castle" below.

Andy Stott

Here is a new, warped R&B, bedtime lullaby jam for your aural pleasure from the upcoming new album "Luxury Problems" from Andy Stott.  Described as "somewhere between Theo Parrish and Sade, but more fucked," the record should fulfill all your nocturnal, post-party cravings.  Listen to the beautiful album opener "Numb" below and look for the record soon on Modern Love.
