Hawksmoor

Having already released one of my favorite albums of the year with March's analog synth opus "Am I Conscious Now?," Bristol artist Hawksmoor is back again with new album "Yclept Thorn."  The new record has a more ritualistic dungeon synth vibe going for it, as evidenced by the slow and crawling dirge of the title track.  Check it out below and pre-order the LP here from Library of the Occult.

Daily Jam - Bingung

Here's an excellent mix of psych and soul from Indonesian band Shark Move's 1973 opus "Ghede Chokra's."  "Bingung" has a particularly yearnful tone that just gets to me.  My first time listening to the song, at the 2:37 moment, i think i actually said, "oh shit," out loud.  Anyhoo, check the tune out and see if your reaction is the same.  Listen below, our Daily Jam.

Friday Horror Trailer - Dead Alive

AKA "Braindead"

Daily Jam - Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime

You may know this song from Beck's version recorded for the "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" soundtrack.  Honestly, i heard that version first.  But it led me to the original 1980 track by UK band The Korgis.  And i think i might like it better.  Check out "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime" below, our Daily Jam.

Perennial

I've been fortunate enough to catch New England garage rock band Perennial a few times over the years at SXSW.  They're one of those bands that ends up playing 20 shows over a 5-day period while they're in town.  I can't even imagine.  Anyway, they've got a new album heading our way in September with "Modernism," and judging by lead-off single "What's New on the Beat Scene," it's gonna be a rocker.  Check the track out below and pre-order the LP here from Ernest Jenning Record Co.

Formal Sppeedwear

Here's some off-kilter, angular, new-wavey post-punk from UK band Formal Sppeedwear.  The group's new album "Punch Card" is out in August.  Pre-order it here from Melodic Records and listen to "Who Needs Spain Ball" below.

I've been digging on the mix of darkwave and dreampop from LA artist Casket Cassette since first hearing him back in March (when i missed his performance during SXSW).  Every single has been a total synth pop banger, and now he's dropped a new full-length album with "REDUCER."  Check out the haunted and dreamy "Apathy" below and pay what you want for the download here from the artist.
