The International Disassociation

Back in 2023, Denver based artist Aaron Dooley released an album called "The International Disassociation of: Aaron Dooley."  The band he assembled to tour that album ended up enjoying their time together so much, that the whole group just became The International Disassociation, and they play a cool and heady mix of psych, prog, and jazz.  Check out latest single "Later Days" below and download it here.

I'm not really sure how to describe the 1975 track "Good Morning Hiroshima" by Italian artist Mario Barbaja.  It's a little prog, a little psych, a little easy listening, a little pop.  It's also wonderful.  Strange and wonderful.  Listen below, our Daily Jam.

Deep diving on a bunch of weird old music on YouTube the last few months, and i've discovered a ton of Japanese stuff (jazz, psych, prog, city pop, etc.) that's been filling my earspace.  Check out this cool and dramatic psych rock track from Goro Inoue called "John" below, our Daily Jam.

Flowers Must Die

Here's some glorious music from Swedish born / UK based band Flowers Must Die that was recorded almost 10 years ago and is seeing the light of day with the release of the "Stormen Fore Lugnet" 12".  Dig on the swirling, noisy mix of psych, space rock, prog, and jazz that is "Darskapen" below and get the vinyl here from the band.

MIRAR

I don't know too much about French metal band MIRAR, but their mix of prog, industrial, death metal, and more is pretty goddamn awesome.  New album "Gradus ad Parnassum" dropped a few days ago.  Download it here from the band and listen to the spooky and operatic album opener "Stjernebro" below.

Daily Jam - Hypnotisé

Working from home alone this morning.  Just me and the dog.  It's quiet and gray, the perfect time for some spacey, easy listening prog pop from French Canadian musician Gilles Valiquette.  I came across "Hypnotisé" the other night during a YouTube deep dive and really dug the sparse dreaminess of it all.  Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Sugar Horse

Here's some new music from the often uncategorizable Bristol band Sugar Horse.  The band's wild and cacophonous mix of black metal, alt-rock, noise, and prog rock can make the head spin in the best ways.  New album "Not a Sound in Heaven" is out now.  Get it here from Fat Dracula Records and listen to the doom-laden album closer "You Can't Say Dallas Doesn't Love You" below.

Daily Jam - Nem Érdekel, Amit Mondsz

Looking back on it, that Andy Votel curated "Prog Is Not a Four Letter Word" compilation is probably one of my favorite CD's i've ever purchased.  It opened me up to so much killer music from all over the world, like Hungarian prog band Illes.  Check out "Nem Érdekel, Amit Mondsz" belowk, our Daily Jam, and groove on that opening beat and riff.
