The Olivia Tremor Control

It's going to be bittersweet for sure, with the passing of Bill Doss in 2012 and Will Cullen Hart in 2024, but The Olivia Tremor Control's final album, "The Same Place," is heading our way at month's end.  The writing and recording began a long while back, and the remaining band members saw fit to complete the project.  I love them.  Anyway, listen to "Advice from the Oceans" below and pre-order the download here or the vinyl here from Elephant 6.

Daily Jam - Haunted House of Rock

There are a bunch of bands out there that took that spooky '60s surf and garage rock sound and ran with it.  One of those was '90s band Satan's Pilgrims.  Here they are with "Haunted House of Rock," our Daily Jam.

Deep Glens

I didn't get home today until late, so gonna be logging off here in just a sec.  But first, here's some cool IDM-infused electronic music from Minnesota artist Deep Glens.  New album "Carver" came out a couple weeks back, and it's a pretty solid listen.  Check out the glitchy, album opening "ok ak" below and snag a copy of the LP here.

Daily Jam (October Edition) - Graveyard

Spooky season is upon us.  One thing i love about it is all the old novelty and surf rock tracks from the '60s.  Seriously, there are probably a thousand random 7" records out there by bands called The Draculas or The Hobgoblins or something whose sole release starts with the creaking sound of crypt opening, followed by a woman's scream, followed by the sickest surf rock riff you've ever heard.  Just fantastic stuff.  Anyway, here's The Phantom Five with "Graveyard," our October Edition Daily Jam.
