Gnoomes

Liz Cooper

Vermont's Liz Cooper makes cool alternative rock that nods back to grunge, post punk, trip-hop, space rock, and more.  I wouldn't call it throwback rock necessarily, but she certainly wears her influences on her sleeve.  Check out the wonderful ballad "Loss of Signal" below and download the artist's new "New Day" album, featuring some positively charming cover art, here.  You can also pre-order the physical release here from the artist.

Failure

Natural Magic

Here's a mellow mix of psychedelia, krautrock, and space rock from Portland, Oregon duo Natural Magic.  "Don't Look Back" feels like coming down, or maybe like something's just about to take off.  Pretty groovy stuff to listen to whilst light-headed from the flu.  Check the track out below and get the new "II" LP here from Optimo Music.

It's my youngest son's birthday today.  He's 10.  This life just goes so damn fast.  Anyway, he has no idea who they are, but i'm listening to some Spiritualized this morning before work since they're one of those bands that puts me in my happy place.  Here they are covering "Any Way that You Want Me," a track written by Chip Taylor and first recorded by Tina Mason.  The song has since been covered by a ton of different groups, most notably The Troggs in 1966.  Check it out below, our Daily Jam.  And happy birthday Robbie!

Mydreamfever & Huremic

Huremic is the psychedelic space rock side project of South Korean shoegaze artist Parannoul.  Earlier this year, he dropped the fantastic "Seeking Darkness" album which is certain to end up on a lot of folks' year-end best-of lists.  And now he's back with more, this time around teaming with fellow South Korean artist Mydreamfever.  The new "3. How I See Nothing but You" album combines aspects of said psychedelia, space rock, and shoegaze and throws in some drone and noise rock for good measure.  Check out "Distance (Another Rise)" below and pay what you want for the download here.

Irish/Portuguese band pôt-pot make a fuzzy and grooving mix of psych and krautrock, droning and spacey harmonies and reverb playing us into the sun.  It rules.  Check out "Sextape" below and get the "Warsaw 480km" LP here from Felte.

Daily Jam - Walkin' with Jesus

When i was a sophomore in college, i lived next door to a guy who was a super fan of Spacemen 3 and all of the offshoot projects of its members (like Spiritualized, etc.).  I was drinking a whiskey with him one night and he showed me his collection which included every release you could think of from the artists in all formats and editions, bootlegs and more.  It was pretty damn impressive.  I've been a super fan of many a band or artist in my day but have never come close to approaching as complete a collection as my neighbor had.  So hats off brother.  Speaking of Spacemen 3, here they are with "Walkin' with Jesus," our Daily Jam.
