Mint Field

Estrella del Sol

We just heard from Estrella del Sol the other day with her appearance on the upcoming new album by Austin psych rock band Holy Wave, but she's probably better known as part of the Mexican shoegaze band Mint Field.  Anyway, this summer sees the release of her solo album "Figura de Cristal."  Check out the positively dreamy title track below and pre-order the record here from Felte.

Odonis Odonis & Tobacco

Mint Field

To kick off 2022, Mexican dreampop/shoegaze band Mint Field are set to release two new covers of Spanish pop songs.  The first is the song "Aire" by a group called Mecano.  Being unfamiliar with '80s Spanish pop, i may have to check out the that original as this cover is sublime.  Check it out below and get it here from Felte Records.

Odonis Odonis

I totally missed that we got a new album from Toronto band Odonis Odonis a week and a half ago.  "Spectrums" leans hard into the band's penchant for industrial techno and gothy darkwave, and i am here for it.  Check out "More" below and order the record here from Felte.

Deserta

The winter months are looking to bring us the occasional streak of warm tunes, like the upcoming January release of the new Deserta album.  The LA artist crafts dreamy, shoegaze-tinged pop to get lost in the haze to.  New tune "I'm So Tired" has some chillwave elements thrown into the mix as well, just for good measure.  Check it out below and pre-order the "Every Moment, Everything You Need" LP here from Felte.

Ashley Shadow

I generally associate Felte Records with their excellent post punk, shoegaze, and darkwave releases, but later this month, the label is set to release an album of hazy Americana from Vancouver artist Ashley Shadow.  Shadow's folk tunes feel like dusk, the air cooling ever so slightly, the sunlight slowly fading away, crickets chirping.  Check out the Bonne Prince Billy assisted "Don't Slow Me Down" below and pre-order the upcoming "Only the End" LP here.

Mission to the Sun

Here's a little cold and minimalist synth from Detroit duo Mission to the Sun.  The band describes their music as creating an atmosphere of lamentation for the world left behind, and that's pretty dead on.  Check out "The Unbroken Sea" below and pre-order the upcoming "Cleansed by Fire" LP here from Felte.
