At the end of June, the now New York based indie pop artist Winter released "Hollow (Mixtape Version)," a '90s alt-rock throwback that bobs and crunches along like something blaring from 1995 Honda Passport tape deck.  Check it out below and download it here from Winspear.

Australian psych rock group SONS OF ZÖKU dropped a great new track a few days ago, with the trip-hop-tinged "In You."  It's awesome.  Take a listen below and download it here from the band.

Heavy Meddo

A couple weeks ago, Austin band Heavy Meddo, the project of former Sound Team member Bill Baird, dropped a proper full-length LP with "Spiritual Stripmall."  It's nice and crunchy.  Listen to "Cycle Says the World Is Ending" below and grab the album here from Spaceflight Records.

Perennial

I've been fortunate enough to catch New England garage rock band Perennial a few times over the years at SXSW.  They're one of those bands that ends up playing 20 shows over a 5-day period while they're in town.  I can't even imagine.  Anyway, they've got a new album heading our way in September with "Modernism," and judging by lead-off single "What's New on the Beat Scene," it's gonna be a rocker.  Check the track out below and pre-order the LP here from Ernest Jenning Record Co.

New Fat Dog alert!  New Fat Dog alert!  The UK band, a favorite of mine from SXSW '24 and henceforth, just dropped new song "Go Fuck Urself" yesterday, a synth-heavy and sneering dance track to get the body hopping.  Check it out below and download it here from Domino.

Daily Jam - Sad Sad City

I wonder whatever happened to Austin duo Ghostland Observatory.  Checking on Discogs, and the band released an album back in 2018, but i don't think it was to too much fanfare.  It's kind of wild too, because 20 years ago, these guys were the hottest shit in town.  Anyway, here's a funky electro-pop track from 2006.  Listen to "Sad Sad City" below, our Daily Jam.

Vorhex Angel
