Daily Jam - Untitled
Doing a precursory search for Areknuteknyterne, and i can't find much information on the band. It appears they were a duo from Norway in the mid '80s, releasing a couple of cassettes of lo-fi death rock and post punk. "Untitled" comes from a compilation cassette from 1986. It kicks ass. I could listen to this guitar riff all day long. Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Magick Knives
The good folks over at Library of The Occult Records put out a lot of great stuff: faux film scores, horror synths, library psychedelia, and more. And every so often, they also release a real psych rock banger, this time around with the burning, churning, stoner-tinged sounds of Magick Knives. The band's new self-titled record sounds like something a bunch of stoned bikers would listen to before getting fucked up and diving into some satanic shit in the desert. Check out the album opening "The Plague" below and grab the LP here.

Night Ritualz
San Antonio's Night Ritualz makes darkwave inspired post punk and death rock. New album "Time Is a Thief" dropped last month on Metropolis Records. Snag a copy of the LP here and listen to the wonderfully melancholy "Un Tiro" below, a track that sounds like a mesh of old Spanish pop and lo-fi synth pop.

Magic Wands
LA's Magic Wands have that sound that works its way to the very center of my psyche: kinda shoegaze, kinda darkwave, kinda lo-fi, kinda death rock. Just cool, cool stuff all around. Check out new single "Wishing Well" below and download it here from Metropolis Records.

Lathe of Heaven
Brooklyn post punk band Lathe of Heaven feel like they're practically submerged in the sounds and tones of '80s darkwave, goth, and death rock. And i mean that as the highest possible compliment. New album "Aurora" just dropped over the weekend. Listen to the album opening "Exodus" below and grab the LP here from Sacred Bones.

Sorry...
Beginning with a sample of Winona Ryder, "Your Smile Is Killing Me," the first single from Athens, Greece artist Sorry...'s upcoming album "Fragile," sets the proverbial tone of what is to follow. The track is a mix of gothy death rock, black metal vocal wailing, post punk, and an overall lo-fi aesthetic that feels raw and anguished. Or to put things more bluntly, it fucking rules. Check the track out below and pre-order the album here from the artist.

Dead Mint
Time for some moody, reverb-heavy licks from Nottingham stoner and death rock-tinged psych band Dead Mint. The band's new self-titled album dropped last month, and it's a slow-chugging brain-melter. Listen to album opening "Songlines" below and grab the LP here from the band.
