Daily Jam - Sad Sad City

I wonder whatever happened to Austin duo Ghostland Observatory.  Checking on Discogs, and the band released an album back in 2018, but i don't think it was to too much fanfare.  It's kind of wild too, because 20 years ago, these guys were the hottest shit in town.  Anyway, here's a funky electro-pop track from 2006.  Listen to "Sad Sad City" below, our Daily Jam.

Congratulations

Yesterday, Paige and i took the day off from work and went to a free SXSW day party at local queer friendly bar and venue Cheer Up Charlies (they have great parties every year).  We didn't know anyone on the bill, and one of the acts we caught was Brighton electro-pop band Congratulations, who were a total blast.  Check out the bouncy, arm-pumping, butt-shaking "Fought 4 Love" below and get the band's "Join Hands" LP here from Bella Union.

Kompromat

And now for the latest cold wave banger from France-based darkwave and electro-pop duo Kompromat.  New tune "I Let Myself Go Blind" is a chilly, ominous, and catchy banger, the kind of jam that sticks in my head for days.  Check it out below and pre-order the duo's upcoming new album "PLДYING / PRДYING" here from WARRIORECORDS.

Lalalar

I first Istanbul's Lalalar last year, and was instantly hooked to the trio's grooving and danceable mix of Turkish psychedelia, Anatolian rock, and electro-pop.  It kicked ass.  And now they're back with their upcoming new album "En Kötü Iyi Olur."  Check out the exotic and kind of ominous "Hem Evimsin Hem Cehennemim" below and pre-order LP here from Les Disques Bongo Joe.
