Pentagrams of Discordia

With a name like Pentagrams of Discordia, i kind of expected dark and ominous tones, portent harbingers of doom and whatnot, but the French Guiana artist actually makes chilled out IDM with flashes of the cinematic and ambient waves.  Great stuff for centering yourself.  New album "Whispers About Radiance" is out now.  Grab it here from the artist and listen to the sprawling "Slowing of Evolution" below.

Stellardrone

Making breakfast for dinner tonight (my kids love it), so gotta go and get the bacon started.  Thinking i'm gonna space out a little whilst cooking with some cinematic ambient and electronic music from Lithuanian artist Stellardrone.  Listen to "Transcendence" below and download the new "Kosmos" album here.

Silk Fence

Silk Fence is the New York based, experimental instrumental trio of Arian Shafiee (Guerilla Toss), Booker Stardrum (SML), and Justin Frye (PC Worship).  Together, they pull from jazz, post rock, ambient, neo-classical, psychedelia, and more to craft sprawling soundscapes of soothing textures and propulsive grooves.  Check out "(A)RT" below and pre-order the band's upcoming self-titled LP here from Sophomore Lounge.

Polypores

Here's some new ambient music from UK artist Polypores.  "A Hole in the Air" is tranquil and a little trippy, and sounds like something it would be nice to gradually awake to.  Check it out below and get the "Wildlife" cassette here from Aural Canyon.

Allison Lorenzen

Here's a beautiful new ambient-inspired track from Denver based artist Allison Lorenzen.  "Healing Vibrations II" serves as an excellent accompaniment to the artist's "Deploy the Stars Upon thy Chest" from earlier this summer.  Gorgeous, soothing, and melancholic, it's music that speaks to the soul.  Check it out below and download it here.

Almost an Island

I've had a ridiculously long couple of weeks filled with 4am wakeup times and 13-hour work days.  Needless to say, i'm pooped.  So let's sit back and relax with some gentle, dreamy, ambient-tinged sounds from Almost an Island.  Snag the "Few Words Are Enough" EP cassette here from Past Inside the Present and listen to the gorgeous and transcendent title track below.

Ride's Andy Bell has been a busy man over the last few years, releasing a slew of solo projects and collaborations.  The latest is is the upcoming "Common Primitives" LP with the UK based duo Masal.  The work is a mix of dreamy electro-folk sounds and Eastern textures.  Check out "The Morning of the Trip" below and pre-order the record here from Sonic Cathedral.

I have watched more soccer in the last three weeks than i have in my entire life before that.  And i just finished watching the USMNT look like total dogshit for 90+ minutes.  Trump really does turn everything he touches into shit, like some sort of turd-man Midas.  Anyhoo, after a sports debacle, i like to soothe myself with some music, like the gentle, jazzy, ambient, neo-classical sounds of French trio Human.  Listen to "Ricochet" from the group's sole 1985 long player, our Daily Jam.

Ambient vaporwave artist t e l e p a t h has been dropping all kind of new music lately, like the hypnotic new album "静かなのにすべてを貫く愛," which roughly translates to "A Love that Is Quiet Yet Pierces Through Everything."  The album is divided into two sprawling 37-minute long tracks that you can snag on cassette here from Geometric Lullaby.  In the meantime, listen to side A's "いつも強く抱きしめて、決して離さないで," or "Always Hold Me Tight, and Never Let Me Go" below.
