Omar Cheikh

Blak Saagan

Here is some strange and excellent new music from Venetian composer Blak Saagan.  Upcoming new album "Un Sequestro Lungo 10.000 Anni" is a massive, 108-minute, 3-disc concept album full of dark ambient electronics, industrial music, and experimental noise described as a soundtrack to a "dystopian city through flashes of futuristic fourth world visions, warehouse 80s rave-ups, meditative trance and dark rumblings."  For the release, the artist paired with Iranian illustrator Majid Bita to create an accompanying book of art.  This whole thing sounds pretty damn rad.  Listen to "Benzocrazia" below and pre-order it all here from Maple Death.

Tv Dust

Bono / Burattini

All about the icy European synthesizers this morning.  Here's a new one from Italian duo Bono / Burattini.  Inspired by the avant garde films of cinematographer Maya Deren, the band's experimental electronic textures feel like the accompaniment to some grand art installation.  New album "Suono In Un Tempo Trasfigurato" is out now on Maple Death.  Get it here and listen to "The Ballroom" below.

Andrea Belfi

Daily Jams aside, this morning i've been listening to "Exotica," a track from Italian composer Andrea Belfi's upcoming album "Eternally Frozen," on repeat.  The album consists of five canon based pieces composed for brass ensemble, percussion, and synthesizer.  "Exotica" is cinematic and hypnotic, tranquil, but a little icy too.  I have a feeling i'll be listening to it all day.  Check it out below and pre-order the LP here from Maple Death Records.

Krano

It's always nice to stumble upon a piece of music that feels like it's exactly where your brain is at the moment.  And so we have the new song "See" by Krano.  A wonderful mix of psych and country and folk that just kind of meanders along, but not without purpose.  Check it out below and pre-order the upcoming new album "Lentius Profundius Suavius" here from Maple Death Records.

Dead Horses

Italian band Dead Horses released one of my favorite albums of 2017 with their debut "Ballad for Losers," their particular brand of lo-fi cowpunk scratching that particular itch just right.  And i hadn't heard from them since.  I was wondering if they were even still around, and then i got the news this morning of their upcoming sophomore effort "Sunny Days."  New tune "Macabro" keeps their cowpunk intact but adds in some extra Spaghetti Western moods for good measure.  Check it out below and pre-order the record here from Maple Death Records.

Fera

I find that a lot of dark ambient music can either feel cold and icy or hot and steamy.  It's pretty cool when it can go either way.  Italian artist Fera makes industrial and techno-laced dark ambient music that does just that, perfect droning sounds for the ice age or the sweltering heat.  Check out "Tempio Nella Bocca" below and get the "Corpo Senza Carne" album here from Maple Death Records.

Mai Mai Mai
