Daily Jam - The Third Ring's Watery Flow

Here's some mellow music from British artist, and former Deep Purple member, Roger Glover.  "The Third Ring's Watery Flow" sounds like something from a nature documentary or a planetarium show, a mix of new age, jazz, prog, and symphonic rock.  Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Orakel

I've got a lot of accounting based data entry to get done today.  Here's hoping some German analog synthesizers can push me through.  Check out "Orakel" from German composer and keyboardist Reinhard Lakomy below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Mossen

Periodically i will come across some random and obscure record that instantly becomes my new quest.  As a pretty rabid record collector, this happens to me far more often than i'd like to admit, but it is what it is.  In the past i've hunted down rare '60s psych folk LP's, private press Americana from the '70s, and so on and so on.  Now i'm in search of a proto-dark ambient electronic LP from Swedish space rock and electronic trio Anna Sjalv Tredje.  Their solo release, 1977's "Tussilago Fanfara" is my latest "holy grail."  So good luck to me on finding it for a reasonable price (the record collector market has gotten kinda crazy over the last decade).  For now though, let's listen to the album opening "Mossen," our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Distances

I just got home from the 45th annual Austin Record Convention, and while i certainly came home with some cool stuff (i always do), i didn't find anything on my internal want list.  It happens.  But it sure would have been cool to find the Haitian jazz fusion/new age album "Kote Ou?" by Mushi & Lakansyel.  Maybe next time.  In the meanwhile, here's the dreamy, Balearic-tinged "Distances," our Daily Jam.

Mistaedre

I just spent the last 30 minutes battling a web app with a very unfriendly user interface.  Serenity now.  Here's a mix of dungeon synth and library new age music to soothe my nerves.  Check out "Dark Beneath the Clouds" from electronic artist Mistaedre's new album "Wanderer in Exile" below and get the cassette here from Per Musica Ad Astra.

Discovery Zone

Here's some new avant garde electronica and new age from New York's Discovery Zone.  "Library Copy Do Not Remove" was originally written and performed for an immersive multimedia art project for the historic Zeiss GroB Planetarium globe in Berlin.  Now it's coming to your stereo.  Check out the sparse and bubbling "Dusk" below and pre-order the LP here from RVNG Intl.

Studio Kosmische

I sometimes think i need to start meditating.  Maybe it could alleviate some of the stress i get from the daily grind of working, parenting, home-ownership, and the impending end of the world.  And i can start with the experimental sounds of Studio Kosmische.  The duo's new album, "Electronic Meditation for Inner Space Travel," features sax from Russian artist Ivan Bursov and travels in the sounds of smooth and funky psychedelia, free form jazz, and new age ambience.  Perfect stuff for locating that inner peace.  Check out "In Search of Magick" below and get the LP here from Dreamlord Recordings.

Hawksmoor

Hawksmoor is the experimental project of Bristol based artist James McKeown, releasing a whole slew of material over the last 10 years.  Material which i'm only finding out about now.  And that's unfortunate because it's positively wonderful, a mix of experimental electronics, ambient music, new age, krautrock, kosmische psychedelia, and so on.  New album "Am I Conscious Now?" plays like a meditation tape wired directly into your inner psyche...soothing...caressing.  Check out the dreamy, peaceful "Ti Kallisti" below and download the album here (the vinyl is already sold out).

Tacoma Park

Here's a new track from North Carolina based experimental duo Tacoma Park.  I hear a lot of different things on "Untied," a mix of ambient country music, Americana, new age, krautrock, and a little bit of kosmische psychedelia.  It's cool and floaty.  Check it out below and pre-order the band's upcoming "Baltimore" LP here from Centripetal Force.

An Old Sad Ghost

Dungeon synth is one of those niche genres that will always kind of be an enigma to me.  Don't get me wrong, the pairing of medieval imagery with lo-fi synthesizers and dark ambient textures is super fucking cool.  What gets me is that the people who love the genre, really really really really love the genre.  The cassette tapes these artists release seem to sell out in literal minutes.  Wild.  Anyway, here's some dour new music from An Old Sad Ghost from new album "A Letter for Carmilla Part VI & VII: Lamentation & Old."  Listen to anguish-ridden "Lamentation I" below and download the whole thing here from Gondolin Records (naturally the tape is long gone).
