Ride's Steve Queralt is releasing his debut solo album "Swallow" in June on Sonic Cathedral. As with most Sonic Cathedral releases, it's selling out fast. Andy Bell Featuring Dot Allison and Michael Rother Remixed
I just posted about Andy Bell, Dot Allison, and Michael Rother covering The Passions on the upcoming new Andy Bell solo record, and the artist has also released a 12" single version of the song featuring extended remixes by Justin Robertson and GLOK. Check out "I'm in Love...(Justin Robertson's Deadstock 33s Remix)" below (i might actually like it better than the album version) and download the whole thing here from Sonic Cathedral (again, the vinyl is already sold out).
Andy Bell Featuring Dot Allison and Michael Rother
Ride's Andy Bell is prepping his new solo album, "Pinball Wanderer," for release next month, and the first single is a whopper. Getting a vocal assist from the lovely Dot Allison and a guitar assist from Michael Rother of legendary krautrock band Neu!, the artist covers The Passions' post punk classic "I'm in Love with a German Film Star." The new version, shortened to just "I'm in Love..." plays like a daydream. It's wonderful. Listen below and pre-order the album here from Sonic Cathedral.
(As is wont to happen with most Sonic Cathedral releases, the vinyl is already sold out.)

Andy Bell
Earlier this month, Andy Bell, best known as the singer/guitarist from Ride or for his stint in Oasis, released his first solo single, the trance-inducing, lullaby-like "Plastic Bag." Check it out below and get it here from Sonic Cathedral.

Daily Jam - Dreams Burn Down
So SXSW was cancelled due to growing concerns about the possibility of a full on coronavirus pandemic. It's a hard call to make. Maybe it's for the best. Maybe not. One thing that is certain is that a whole lot of folks in the service industry here in Austin are going to be in less than stellar financial straits for the foreseeable future. So, if you happen to be in Austin this month, go to a bar, go to a venue, go to a restaurant or cafe, go to a boutique, go to a record store, and tip well. Here's Ride's "Dreams Burn Down," our Daily Jam.

Ride - Charm Assault
After catching them on their reunion tour a couple of years ago, i suppose i should have expected some new music from old school shoegaze band Ride on the horizon. And here it is. Listen to "Charm Assault" below, a great rock tune in the vein of 90's Britpop, and be on the lookout for a new album sometime this year.
