Picked up "Blackout Summer" by Christmas Island. It's another winner from In The Red Records. Each track comes off like a much beloved garage pop-rock nugget, care-free and unpretentious. And that means i really like it.On a more somber note, i watched Samuel Fuller's "White Dog" last night. Fuller ("The Naked Kiss"/"Shock Corridor") really goes all out on the anti-racism here. The film is about an actress who hits a dog with her car, nurses it back to health, and forms a bond with it, only discover that he's been trained to attack black people. Attempts to recondition the dog follow.
It's a tough watch, but very good.
And it's probably good that my wife skipped out on this one.
