Carpenter Brut - Blood Machines

I have not had the chance to see Seth Ickerman's "Blood Machines" yet, but synth wave techno artist Carpenter Brut is providing the score, so i'm in.  Check out the driving "Blood Machines Theme" below and get it here from No Quarter Prod.

Carpenter Brut

French electronic artist Carpenter Brut surprise released a new album of techno bangers and John Carpenter-inspired synth jams this week, a new imaginary film score to blast our eardrums to.  "Leather Teeth" has all the makings of an 80's slasher soundtrack run amok, killer blips and grooves perfect for stalking teenagers.  Listen to the title track below and download the album here via No Quarter.

Carpenter Brut covers Michael Sembello

I'm still upset with myself for missing synthwave artist Carpenter Brut when he came through Austin earlier this year during SXSW, but i guess i can listen to what could have been with the upcoming "Carpenter Brut Live" album, due next month on No Quarter.  Listen to the album closing cover of Michael Sembello's "Maniac" below.  It's surprisingly good.

Carpenter Brut - Night Stalker

So, there's a documentary being made about 80's analog synthesizer music and its resurgence and revival in the last few years by a number of synth wave artists.  This is most welcome news, and the movie will be getting an accompanying soundtrack full of new music by many of the artists featured in the film.  The first teaser comes in the mold of a new jam from French synth act Carpenter Brut.  "Night Stalker" is full of wonderful horror synths and techno delirium.  Listen below and get it from Lakeshore Records.

Carpenter Brut

With a name like Carpenter Brut, you would expect music that prays at the altar of John Carpenter, horror-synth jams to run from ghouls to, or to battle the undead in a pixelated landscape to...and you would be correct.  That's what it sounds like.  And it sounds awesome.  Listen to "Division Ruine" from "EP III" below and grab the album here.

Side note: I love that album cover.
