It looks like last week on Bandcamp Friday, London producer and electronic artist Burial dropped a new 12" featuring two new songs.  Dig on the simultaneously droning and blissed out A-side "Comafields" below and snag the record here from Hyperdub.

Mica Levi

Here's a pretty and sprawling new track from composer and musician Mica Levi.  "Slob Air" is cinematic and wistful, and also feels like some 12" extended version of a college pop radio single from 35 years ago.  Check it out below and get it here from Hyperdub.

London electronic artist Burial has been making music for almost 20 years now, and his particular style and blend of ambient electronica, dubstep, and more have been keeping me entranced the whole time.  New single "Phoneglow" is out this August, a second split 12" release with fellow electronic artist Kode9.  Listen to the Burial track below and get the record here from Hyperdub.

Burial just dropped a new EP for our weekend perusal.  "Streetlands" is a stripped down, eerie, and dreamlike mix of hushed synths, field recordings, and warbled, faraway samples, a perfect follow up to the "Antidawn" EP released earlier this year.  Check out the title track below and get the record here from Hyperdub.

Burial's particular brand of electronic music has always had a haunted element to it, and on the forthcoming "Antidawn" EP, the UK producer strips things down to its barest elements, or "just the vapours."  Sparse bits of sound and samples, cold and faraway synths and instruments, and an almost otherworldly sheen of fuzziness make things all the more eerie.  Check out "Shadow Paradise" below and get the record here from Hyperdub.

It's been over a decade since we got the last full-length LP from enigmatic producer Burial, but that's not to say that he hasn't been busy.  The last 12 years have seen a slew of singles, EPs, and collaborations, and now the artist has released a compilation of the work made from 2011 to 2019 called, coincidentally enough, "Tunes 2011 to 2019."  Listen to my favorite of the bunch, "Come Down to Us" below and get the album here from Hyperdub.

Jesse Kanda is a music and visual artist probably best know for his surreal album art for people like Björk and FKA Twigs.  But he also makes dramatic, gothic electronic music as Doon Kanda.  Check out the cinematic ballroom sounds of "Polycephaly" below and pre-order the upcoming "Labyrinth" LP here from Hyperdub.

Burial - Claustro / State Forest

Enigmatic producer and electronic artist Burial released a new 12" yesterday of dark and dubby grooves.  Both tracks are great, but the B-side "State Forest" is the standout, a moody drone and ambient track that wouldn't feel out of place in a David Lynch film.  Listen to both below and download them here via Hyperdub.

Hey, new music from Burial.  The producer's latest was apparently accidentally sold early at some record stores last week...but not mine.  Anyway, listen to "Young Death" and "Nightmarket" below, and get it from Hyperdub.

Fatima Al Qadiri

"Brute" is the latest release from electronic musician/producer Fatima Al Qadiri, and the first release from the album, "Battery," sounds like an oncoming apocalypse, a harbinger of doom from which there is no escape, a crushing and brutal regime whose foot soldiers will silence the righteous uprising.  It's dark and heavy and awesome stuff.  Listen below and get the record from Hyperdub in March.

Over the last couple of years, enigmatic producer Burial has release a handful of 12" EP's, sometimes collaborative efforts (Four Tet, Thom Yorke, Massive Attack), always seemingly out of nowhere.  His latest, next week's "Rival Dealer" comes out just in time for Christmas.  Listen to the title track below and get the record from Hyperdub.

Laurel Halo - Throw
