The duo known as Drab City used to be known individually and collectively as witch house artists oOoOO and Islamiq Grrrls. They teamed together a couple of years ago with a weird and experimental synth pop album, and now they're back with a name change and a sound very much steeped in trip-hop. It works like gangbusters. Listen to the eerie "Devil Doll" and pre-order the upcoming "Good Songs for Bad People" LP here (if you're in the UK) or here (if you're in the US) via Bella Union.

oOoOO & Islamiq Grrrls
Man, i had forgotten all about witch house artist oOoOO, having figured the project had just faded away with the scene from 8 or 9 years ago. Glad to see that i was wrong. Out this week is a collaborative album, "Faminine Mystique" with Berlin producer/songwriter Islamiq Grrrls, which the duo describe as deliberately "difficult-to-digest." The track "Be On Through" starts normally enough, a swirl of synths around a grooving beat that eventually begins to degrade and warble into different arrays of sound. This may be a deconstructionist kind of record and i'm digging that. Listen below and get the album here via Nihjgt Feelings.

oOoOO
Dark, minimalist producer Chris Dexter, otherwise know as the google confusing oOoOO has been kicking around for a few years releasing songs and EPs, but is finally set to release his proper full length debut "Without Your Love" in June on his own Nihjgt Feelings Records. Listen to first single "Stay Here" featuring vocals from M.L. below. It sounds like being drunk on island beach long after the sun has gone down.
