One of the things i like about the music carnival/corporate slimefest that is SXSW is discovering new artists and bands to enjoy...sometimes just by the word of mouth floating through the Austin streets. I haven't seen her yet, nor had i ever heard of her til this week, but UK rapper/poet/artist Kate Tempest seems to be turning heads and eardrums all over this city. Sampling her 2014 album "Everybody Down," she sounds like a bouncier, feminine take on The Streets. And she's so...British. I love it. It's pretty fucking awesome, and i'll be checking her out tomorrow for sure. Grab the album from
