The Killer

While we're listening to Nine Inch Nails this morning, we might as well throw on the new score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for David Fincher's "The Killer."  There are certain director/composer combos that just work like magic, and the pairing of Fincher with Reznor and Ross is definitely one of them.  Check out the tense and moody "Fuck." below and download the whole soundtrack here from The Null Corporation.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

I watched David Fincher's new film "Mank" last night, a period piece Hollywood drama about Herman Mankiewicz, the screenwriter of "Citizen Kane."  It was fantastic.  I loved it and will probably be giving it a second viewing here before the year is over.  Anyway, one of the things that really elevated the film for me was the absolutely dynamite score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.  The duo have certainly made a name for themselves the last decade with their soundtrack work, but the stuff they composed for "Mank" is on a whole other level.  Using period appropriate instruments, Reznor and Ross mix classical sounds, chamber music, and jazz creating a tapestry that weaves itself into every scene and frame of the film.  A vinyl release will be heading our way sometime in 2021, but for now, the whole thing, plus two hours of unused cues can be downloaded here via The Null Corporation.  Do it, and stream the score below.
