FACS

Angular Chicago post punk band FACS have a new record coming our way in February.  That's excellent news on its own since they're a great band, but it's also notable as the last album the late, great Steve Albini recorded and engineered before his unexpected death earlier this year.  Pre-order "Wish Defense" here from Trouble In Mind, and listen to the punchy title track below.  RIP Steve.

For some reason, this post (along with several others) from back in March was deleted in err by Blogger.  They have reinstated it, but i'm having to repost it.

FACS

I got turned on to Chicago experimental rock outfit FACS a year or so ago at the cheerleading from producer John Congleton.  And Congleton knows his stuff.  The band fuses elements of post rock, math rock, shoegaze, industrial, and noise to create a mess of sound that can be both jarring and hypnotic at the same time.  Listen to "In Time" below and pre-order March's Congleton-produced "Lifelike" LP here from Trouble In Mind.

FACS

When John Congleton recommends you check out a band...you check out the damn band.  Chicago's FACS, a kind of minimal, experimental post punk kind of thing, sound cold and detached on the "Primary (demo)," but hypnotic nonetheless.  Listen below, and go here for a couple of free demo downloads.
