Mesarthim is very easily my favorite Australian black metal band that works plenty of synthesizers into their sound, along with references to astrophysics.  Don't let the fact that they're probably the only band that does this dissuade you from giving them a listen.  They kill it on every release.  New album "The Density Parameter" is out now, and you can get it here from the band for a dollar.  Listen to "Recombination" below in the meantime.

Australian black metal band Mesarthim are having a pretty stellar year of releases.  Over the summer, they released the excellent "Absence" album, and have followed it up with two single-track EP's to close out 2016, "The Great Filter" and "TYPE III."  Their sound is epic, crushing, and cosmic, and sounds like the universe slowly strangling life out of existence.  Listen to "TYPE III" below and download the band's music here.

Ugh...Texas is already down 14 points.  Some days it just hurts to be a football fan.  Anyway, here's a crushing black metal jam from Australia's Mesarthim that sounds like the horrors of the cosmos raining down on the Earth.  "..---," or "2" for those not versed in Morse code comes from the band's new full length album ".- -... ... . -. -.-. .," which again in Morse spells "Absence."  It's pretty awesome, even if my football team tries not to be.  Listen below and get the album here for a dollar.
