The lineup may have evolved a little bit since last year's glorious "Linger in Someone's Memory with a Lurid Glow," but the shoegaze sounds of Japan's Stomp Talk Modstone remain deliriously wonderful.  New album "MEW" just dropped yesterday, and you can download it here.  I'll keep you posted on a physical release when/if it happens, but in the meantime, listen to the swirling din of "I Believe" below.

Japanese shoegaze band Stomp Talk Modstone released what is likely to be one of my favorite albums of the year, "Linger in Someone's Memory with a Lurid Glow," back in January.  And i missed it, but they dropped a follow-up 7" back in February.  I'm going to blame the winter storm that essentially paralyzed Texas three months ago.  Anyway, check out the beautiful guitar swirl of "To Be" below and order the "BBR#38" 7" here from the Box Bedroom Rebels label.

I know it's only January, but i think i may have found my first real contender for my album of the year with the latest release from Japanese shoegaze band STOMP TALK MODSTONE.  "Linger in Someone's Memory with a Lurid Glow" is as gorgeous as it is sweeping, an absolutely massive piece of layered sound and reverb that echoes far into space and time.  Check out "Linger" below and order the cassette here from Gezellig Records.
