The Jesus Lizard

Since blasting back onto the scene last year, it appears that perhaps The Jesus Lizard are beginning a Renaissance era of sorts.  I can tell you at least, from catching them live in Austin back in November, that they haven't missed a step.  And they just dropped new tune "Westside" a few days ago.  It's pretty damn cool.  Check it out below and download it here from Ipecac.

The Jesus Lizard

A couple weeks ago, i was fortunate enough to get to see The Jesus Lizard, live and in person.  It was a long time coming, and probably only made possible by the fact that the band released comeback album "Rack" earlier this year.  And now they've got a new single.  Could this be the start of a new era?  Check out "Cost of Living" below and download it here from Ipecac.

The Jesus Lizard

Well i'll be damned, i really did not expect to hear new music from The Jesus Lizard today, much less get news that the band has a new album heading our way in September.  It's been 26 years.  Anyhoo, check out the new tune below, the guttural and bombastic "Hide & Seek."  And pre-order the "Rack" LP here from Ipecac.

Daily Jam - Cannibal

Before The Jesus Lizard, there was Scratch Acid...or at least half of The Jesus Lizard.  The Austin noise and punk band was short lived, but tore it up during their tenure in the '80s and spawned one of the all time great punk acts.  Check out "Cannibal" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam (Covers Week) - Rodeo in Joliet (Live)

Did you know that there was a jazz fusion Jesus Lizard cover band?  And that their name is The Jazzus Lizard?  And that after releasing a couple of albums in the late '00s (with four-letter word titles of course), they released a live album recorded at Austin's The Lost Well in 2017 with some assistance from David Yow himself?  Well, now you do.  Let's finish off covers week here with this weird and wonderful take on "Rodeo in Joliet," our Daily Jam.
